Maybe other people don't care about this but if I go to restaurant serving a particular type of cuisine I like to see that at least some of the staff actually have that background, especially the chef. But in Ruby Raja, I didn't see any Indian staff. The people on the floor were european/aussie and the chef was a friendly looking asian bloke but I'm pretty sure he wasn't Idian.

Nonetheless I have to say the food here seems to be of quite good quality. However, I'm guessing it's been westernised and if you are from India you may not enjoy the food so much. But I am only guessing.

I ordered the ruby chicken, which had a interesting but mild spice that I couldn't recognise. It was quite good. I should say Indian food isn't my favourite cuisine so that is a nice complement coming from me.

The prices are fair but not cheap. I don't know how much they charge for drinks because the ones I bought weren't in the menu. I bought a lemon lime bitter and a mango lassi. I can't believe how cheap they were with the glass sizes! That was a big disapointment I thought. The mango lassi normally served in large smoothie glasses was served in a glass you'd expect to be used for a vodka.

In all fairness I should state upfront that if you have a medicare card, your visits will be bulk-billed and you will be fine.

My partner isn't yet an Australian citizen however is with Bupa who pay her the same benefits as medicare. So we didn't expect to pay anything. The standard "bulk-billing" cost that the government pays on your behalf is around $30 and this is how much they get paid normally. However if you don't show them a medicare card upfront they will charge you $75 each visit!! So for no good reason they put their price way up - then Bupa will only reimburse the standard $30. We were not told of this unfair additional charge to people who can't show medicare cards.

My partner saw one doctor three times. I found her to be very friendly and to have a genuine concern for her clients. However she never found what was wrong with my partner. On our first two visits we waited roughly 3 hours each! The second time I counted that she only saw 6 people before us. She is excruciatingly slow and seems to have some lengthy breaks between clients where she is in her office with the door shut.

While trying to find the problem (which she never did) we had to do an ultrasound and a whole bunch of other little tests (e.g. urine analysis). The ultrasound we did through Bensons who were really great (cheap and quick). The other tests our doctor did herself in the visits and we assumed that was included in the costs of the doctor visit (which is already too high).

Weeks later we get a bill in the mail for about $50 for the tests she did. And then a few days later we get another one around the same price, I assumed it was a reminder. After inspecting it again we realised it is another bill for different tests! We are furious as we were not told that there would be additional costs and we are not at all satisfied with the service we got.

Another thing was we went one time an hour before they closed and all we wanted to know was the result of the test (and we were very anxious because we thought it was something very serious her mum had). The receptionist refused to let us see her because she was booked out (I'm sure because she is just too slow).

In fact all we needed was a quick free over the phone call to say the result of the test. But no, that's not the way she works. We have to wait three hours at a time convenient for her and pay her $75 to find out the result of test we have already (over)paid her, and she received much sooner.

Of course, they need to overcharge. So that they can pay for all the artwork in their very nice building.

Nice busy restaurant. We walked in and the whole place is very full only one table left. The tablecloth was stained quite badly and the table was uncomfortable squashed near another table so that the chairs were back to back. This is the only complaint I can make however.
Prices were fair, food was great quality, served quickly (despite the large number of people) and staff were polite and seemed happy to work there. I think I recognised which one was the boss and he looked to be quite friendly both with customers and staff.

Best hot-pot and Chinese restaurant I've ever visited!!

I'll start with the setting. The building itself is very narrow and deep. There is only one large rectangular table inside which includes the "train" - a conveyor belt that transports the vegetable dishes in circles (and salt, pepper and tooth picks). I'd guess the table seats 30, maybe 40. Because of the rectangular setup you'll be directly facing strangers I guess this may put off a few people, but I found it was a friendly atmosphere. The building itself is quite old, but the toilets are cleaned, there are flowers and the soap smelt good. It is different to the other hotpot places I've tried in Adelaide because every guest is given a small hotpot to cook in (doesn't stop you from sharing).

The soup bases aren't straight out of a powder packet like other places. They have good quality pieces of vegetables and meat in it already to give it that great flavour that you eat.

This is also the first time in my life that I not only tried fish but enjoyed it (occasionally I've tasted it but never enjoyed it before) we ordered the fish fillet.

They also have the best quality beef I've ever had in a hot pot, nicer than I ever thought possible! When you cook it is so tender. It was called rib eye steak or similar. And while it was more expensive than the other meat dishes at $8.80 the serving is very, very generous and the quality unmatched!

I ate quail egg there for the first time, which was interesting too.

The white house wine wasn't too bad either.

The only negatives I can point out - is it may be slightly understaffed for how popular the place was and not ideal for a socialising in a group because of the rectangular table so you can only comfortably talk to one person on either side of you. Also, you have to use the same chop sticks to cook and eat. This will bother some westerners but not Chinese (I guess). I personally don't like that because you are touching raw meat and fish with the same chopsticks you are eating from. I just put the chopsticks in the boiling soup for a bit everytime I touched the meat to kill the germs.

I loved this place and will be back! Can't recommend this business more (but they really can't fit many more customers).

I used to think woolworths is better than coles. But I found I was just being snobbish. When I gave coles a shot (because I moved locations), I found it to be cheaper and have some interesting products not in woolworths. There are two coles in this supermarket. We perfer the one in the middle of the center.

I love tacos more than anything!! My girlfriend and I were pretty disapointed here. Well I was disapointed, my girlfriend absolutely hated it, but that could just be because the cuisine wasn't her taste.

I ordered the taco platter and was underimpressed for someone who completely love simple tacos. I found everything too expensive for what it was.

The one good thing the restaurant has going is it's decorations. They've obviously gone to great lengths to make it look mexican and everything looks really nice.

I went with 5 friends here for a dinner and was very impressed. The service was really nice. The waitress of Chinese background was very courteous and spoke perfect English.

We all ordered drinks, mains, and entree and with just one entertainment voucher between the 5 of us it came to $20.20 each! So very nicely priced. All of us loved our food!
I ate the vege spring rolls for entree and chicken drunken noodles for main. Both were delicious. Everyone else praised their dishes. I know the seafood laksa was very well liked.

I am an Australian and my girlfriend is a chinese. I walked in here yesterday with my girlfriend. I was walking in front of my girlfriend. As soon as we had passed the door. A girl from behind the counter looked past me to my girlfriend and spoke in Chinese. And that was how it was the whole time I was there. I was ignored by the staff and not a word of english was heard by anyone in the restaurant! I do not know if the staff are even able to speak any english!!

I was insulted by their service.
Their chairs are just three blocks of wood glued together and there is no backing to the chairs. I felt very uncomfortable and my shoulders began to hurt.
They had green zone on a TV but without volume and only chinese subtitles. It didn't matter though, it was obviously only for the workers entertainment because they changed the movie half way through and played with the volume (still inaudible).

We ordered something like a beef and potato stew, as well as a minced pork with eggplant dish and of course steamed rice. I didn't enjoy any of it and ate very little. The beef and potato stew was still edible to me. This cost us $34. The only positive I could say is their portions are decent but they charge more for a chinese fast food place. Oh yeah, despite being just one of two couples in the restaurant, the food took a long time to prepare.

I would recommend this restaurant to no one and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with a pulse and/or breath!

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention in my review earlier was that I could hear a male cook in the kitchen very loudly sneezing every few minutes! I couldn't believe he still went in to work! Unfortunately (or fortunately) for me the sneezing didn't start until after I had received the food, otherwise I would have just walked out. Which I still regret not doing.

Pizza quality isn't bad but nothing special.
They also serve coffee, which is handy if you want to have a break from shopping. The restaurant isn't bad for some quick food while you are there but don't go out of your way to come here.

My girlfriend and I are lucky enough to live close. Their quality is very good for their price.
The staff here are especially friendly. The lady actually told me I could get a cheaper price and get more by using their Monday and Tuesday specials.
