The best range of imported sweets in Newcastle - when I walked in to this cute little shop I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia - they really do have just about all of the sweets, lollies and chocolate that so many people grew up with - and it's not too expensive either!
I love buying the Harry Potter chocolates based on the first film in 2001 ( freshly made of course.. !)

I highly recommend you take a look inside this wonderful shop, as it really makes you feel like 'a kid in a candy store' - no pun intended ;)

Probably the best hobby shop in Newcastle. I bought a really nice chess set here for a very reasonable price and I am very happy with the quality. There are entire aisles dedicates to hobby toys for kids of all ages and I'm sure I will go back one day and purchase someday.
The staff were very friendly and I recommend you take a look, you'll never know what you'll find in this store!

Great chai lattes and iced chai's topped off with a cozy atmosphere - the only downside is that its popularity in Darby street can make it quite cramped on the weekend. The staff are very friendly as well :)
It really wouldn't be Darby st without Goldberg's, so I highly recommend you take a look at their menu, as their meals are a VERY generous serving ( I've never been able to finish a marinara bowl yet!) The dessert menu has something for everyone as well, so next time you're in darby, check out Goldberg's and you won't be disappointed!

The best laser-tag arena in Newcastle! It's really great for parties as well, or just for a good time with your friends! The game really brings out the gamer side of us when we are walking down dark hallways as a first person shooter! The only downside is that the 20 minute games run out FAST! And you wish you could go back in for more fun! Zone Empire is a must try for kids of all ages!

A great place to take the kids as there is always something for them to do! It's nice to kick back at relax for a bit in the restaurant while the little ones are occupied! The staff a very friendly and interact with the kids well, I recommend a visit to megamania for the parents who want to take a break when the kids just want to have fun!

The BEST Chinese food in Newcastle by a long shot. I have been going here for years and the meals are never disappointing as they are at a good price and just bursting with flavour - The wait staff are always very friendly as well. Once you go in and taste their dishes you'll just be wanting to go back for more! I recommend the mongolian lamb, satay chicken, honey chicken or ling fish as they have always been favourites of mine!
The restaurant itself is very spacious and so it's great for parties - there's even a dance floor with a disco ball!

- a great place to be.

The clothes are indie/hipster style, which I guess isn't that special in Newcastle any more, but their range is quite nice for guys and girls - although it can be a bit pricey. I think I've bought more vinyls than clothing as they stock the best albums in town - I recommend you take a look next time you're in Darby

Very cute homeware store in Darby St - I always find myself in here shopping for gifts! It can be on the pricey side for a few products, but it's always excellent quality. It's a store for guys and girls of all ages - ranging from the cute little baby toys to gorgeous jewellery to the humorous knick knacks for the guys - I recommend a visit to blue star elements, you'll never know what you'll find!

Great range of comics, manga and collectibles - the only downside is that it can be a bit on the expensive side when it comes to certain products, however the staff are very friendly. It's the only comic book store in town so I recommend you go in and have a look - there's something for everyone here.
I also recommend having a look on their website, as they have more items in stock online most of the time

So many wonderful homewares in this store! The indie/hipster style theme is adorable and the clothes are excellent quality! They re-stock frequently, and so I can't help myself when I'm in Darby st to pop in and take a look at their new things!
