I've walked past a heap of times and never gone inside as I don't have kids. Last week I needed a gift for a new baby and was impressed by the range of items, but more importantly the owner's knowledge and service.
You can find cheaper coffee and snacks in Packington Street, but none as fresh or as well prepared and served at Panache. Was taken there for lunch yesterday by a local and loved the friendly service.
The food is thoughtfully prepared and well served. What you're really 'buying' here is the fantastic view and the food is a bonus. The ideal place to take out of town visitors.
Wharf Shed is a good reliable spot where you can always get a table with little or no wait thanks to a good turnover. Whether you want a full meal or coffee and cake, you can count on the Wharf Shed.

Nothing is too much trouble. Certainly not the cheapest tyres in the area, but you get what you pay for. They discuss your driving habits and recommend the most suitable tyres to fit, and are always on hand for any after sales queries.

Nobody wants to visit the panel beaters, but if you have to, these guys are great. They really know their stuff and take all the hassles out of the claim and repair process (including providing a loan car). Hopefully I won't need them in the near future, but if you have to go to a panel beater this is the place.
This is a family run business and it shows. They really want you to have a great experience from the moment you step inside, and if you phone they are friendly and helpful. A great outing with my nieces and nephews. Pity about the 2 hour parking limit if you're seeing a long movie though.
Approximate cost: $30
This surprising store has a great range of good quality watches and jewellery, but their real expertise is watch service and repairs. Many stores give you a hard time if you just want a new band or battery for a watch, but here you're treated as if you're buying the crown jewels. The excellent friendly service will see me returning to this store.
Approximate cost: $35
Ripples offers great food in a beautiful spot that not too many people know about. Car parking is a breeze (no meters!) . Service is knowledgeable and friendly without being over the top and seeming forced. Attended a birthday function and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff, who went out of their way to make the 90 yo guest of honor feel special. Looking forward to my next visit in April when I share this amazing find with friends,
Great location, but sadly the food and service don't match. A friend and I went on a hot night and the air conditioning wasn't working. The staff didn't seem to realise or care when we asked them about it. Food was reasonable but took ages to arrive. The toilets were grotty and smelled 'stale', which is really bad for a restaurant. With so many other restaurants in the area, I won't be going back.
