looking for great healthy meals / drinks on the go in the city! stop by thr1ve & come alive as you enjoy their delicious menu that tastes as good as it looks! I came in with a mate to celebrate his 6th anniversary since coming off drugs - i asked to make my own smoothie with coconut milk, coconut yogurt, berries, & pea protein - $7 for regular size, healthily yummy!! he tried their 'barefoot sunrise' smoothie & enjoyed it ;) ... I definitely wanna go back sometime & try their range of brekky / salad meals, maybe even try making my own!

caught up with a friend here for lunch @ 1, rather quaint setup inside - i ordered the Walker Farm chicken, mayo, Felix kimchi (which tasted more like sauerkraut) greens on sourdough baguette (which felt a little too much on the tough side, was delicious but definitely too little chicken for the money!!) + sweet potato falafels ($14 + $5) - i thought I'd try them by the interesting sound of it, thinking it was a side dish for that price, but it looked like another meal when served on a whole plate by itself!! my friend had the Avocado on sourdough with spiced labneh, sauerkraut, lemon olive oil + haloumi $12 +$3.50] .. then we also had 2 long blacks - i found mine bitter, I'm not sure how our total bill came up to $54 unless the price of 2 long blacks = $19.50 (!!)

... i bumped up the value from 2 to 3 stars since they apparently "love making all our food from scratch using the best local and organic produce and wholefoods we can get our hands on."

stumbled upon this newly managed AWESOME Japanese kitchen with a mate & had a delicious with octopus ball, salad & crab cream croquette entree, then eel on healthy buckwheat noodles [soba, which you can substitute for the standard white rice] for main, then spicy scallop + seaweed salad for sides, also with miso soup, all for #13.90. I went away with a super happy stomach & wallet too!! definitely a winner. friendly staff, fast service, simple and authentic decor. look forward to trying more again!

looking for Friendly, helpful, *gentle* AND quality dental care? look no further as you'll find it all here - I had my first visit today, and the winning combination of all those elements listed at the start won me over. I knew my teeth /mouth/jaws were in good hands!! Also,
their setup is also very kid friendly, with kid-friendly toys & books in the reception + a flatscreen TV above the dental chair to play movies for all patients, young & old! I've found a GOOD, GOOD Dentist & I'm gonna stick with him!

been here twice at dinnertime since it opened a few weeks ago. it seems dine-in business is a bit slow, but take away orders are going well!
the previous Thai restaurant here was named 'Kin D' .. I definitely love the different decor inside!! The staff are all very friendly and the food tastes delicious as you'd expect from Thai cuisine :D the first time we sampled the mini duck salad with lettce cups [2 for $7.90] - quite small, so not the best value.
I tried the grilled salmon with penang sauce 19.90] The gravy was so yummy I had to refrain from licking the plate! So I mopped it off with a roti bread [$2] .. the next time i ordered a marinated lamb cutlets in curry but somehow my mate who ordered he penang curry with beef ended up getting our orders mixed! :P oh well, it was worth it!
the second time we tried a mixed entree for $8.90. very yummy!!
I look forward to trying their lunch specials a well as other items on their special menu :)

going to the Sydney fish markets around lunch time isn't a good idea if you're not big on crowds!! it was packed full - not a clear table to be seen, much less space to navigate around the different shops to see all that's on offer ... we had to go to a park outside the fish markets to sit down & eat. I ordered a mixed sashimi pack [$14.50] ... you really dont get much for the price, + a seaweed salad [$3.50], again, quite pitiful serving sizes ... though it tasted nice enough, it wasnt long before I got hungry again.

easily located near uphill from UNSW & the hospitals, I went in ~ 5:30 & it was fairly quiet, but I enjoyed the quiet! more people seemed to come in for takeaway orders, very yummy food & Friendly staff, had a nice chat with them :D
I had a plate of edamame beans, seaweed salad, chicken avocado on black rice, + tuna & cucumber & a black sesame glutinous flour dessert ball. total $18. pretty good value I eckon! :)

been here a few times. Now under new management. On my most recent visit, I was very impressed by the new decor, and the service seemed better. Seemed rather quiet from 7pm on a Tuesday night. I ordered the Kadhkai murghi chicken [$15.90?] [a number of items on their physical menu seem to be missing from their online menu!] with Tarka Dhal [? $12.50], garlic naan + mango lassi [$4]. I can't say I was impressed by the oilyness of the curries, although the flavours were very yummy! I'll have to speak to the chef about this .. naan [$3.50]+ mango lassi were yummy :D
my mate ordered the lamb & it was tough. the total bill for 2 of us was $72.2, definitely on the exxy side, so I won't be super regular here ... :S

Catching up with a friend for dinner, he recommended Sunrise Vietnam Restaurant, and one can't really go wrong with Vietnamese food can they?!
the first table we were seated at was under the aircon which was on too cold for my friend, so they gladly relocated us.
I ordered the Hanoi Style Vermicelli with Grilled Pork ($13.50) as I'm a fan of the way Vietnamese do their grilled pork!!
While it seemed to take awhile for my meal to be prepared, it was definitely worth the wait!! the meal came out on a HUGE plate of lettuce, shredded carrot & cucumber & vermicelli with the winning grilled pork as the centerpiece of the plate. - loved the presentation! Taste was *delicious*!!
I doubted I could get through it all as it looked so huge, but I guess the bulk of the contents wasn't super-filling.

Decor was simple & functional, service was helpful enough in helping me decide between 2 of their special dishes.
$29 for the 2 meals with a drink - not bad! ;)

my friends took me here for dinner one night & I liked it so much I returned a few days later with a friend to try their lunch specials!
the 1st night I had their lamb korma curry [14.95!] with no rice but sweet potato chips (my Aussie friend was shocked that I, an Asian, refused rice!) . Absolute Winning choice!!

All meals came with choice of salad bar which had a good range of fruit, vege in salad, raw & roasted form. a friend commented of the respect he had for the bread roll he got, thinking it may have been as old as he was! ;P
Also choice of chips / potato mash/ sweet potato chips to go with meals.
Next time I tried their pan seared barramundi for $18.95 ... (I forgot to order with the sweet potato chips, so it came with potato mash, which they did very nicely!)
Service was friendly, kind, Genine was lovely & chatty.
Atmosphere was nice, not super noisy even though we stayed & chatted well through the lunch hour ... our meals came with a coin voucher we could use in their gaming section which felt like a cheap way to have us lose more money! ;P
