I love going to get sushi here whenever I'm in the city because it's one of the few places that you can get parking. The sushi packs are nice and fresh, and well priced. They have some tasty little Chinese/Malaysian dishes as well, again being good value. Staff are always friendly and quick.
Dicey's is actually a little bit of a rarity in Brunswick, in that it's about the only local pizza shop where you can get an Australian style pizza, late into the evening. There's nothing fancy about Dicey's and in fact, it doesn't actually try to be something that it's not, but it's convenience and value for money can't be denied.
Beechworth Honey Experience is absolutely fascinating if you are looking for something different. The living bee-hive in the store is unlike anything I've ever seen in a retail store. Beautiful handcrafted gifts and art of a very high quality. There is also a tour, which you can do in the store and i found it quite informative and interesting. I would happily go back.
Tasty as! This is the ultimate place for pie fans. My favourite is the Thai chicken pie, with it's large (real) chicken pieces and yummy pastry. It's no wonder Parker Pies have won so many awards. The staff are friendly, and always seem genuinely happy, giving the store a nice atmosphere.
It's so hard to find a good mechanic and when you do they are definitely worth holding onto for dear life. M & B Tyre and Auto is definitely in that category. They provide no nonsense service, at a really good price.
We have visited the Fountain Gate Hotel a few times, the first time we visited was because we saw a coupon in the local newspaper for a discount meal. The dining area, although quite small is never packed, which is good. The meals regular pricing seem a little overpriced but the meals are always satisfying and the range of cakes and deserts makes your mouth water.
Just what you would expect from a bistro type hotel. The meals are pretty good value, with speedy service. Each time i have been here the meals and service has been consistent. This hotel is a great place to go for good, honest counter meals.
When in the area, i came across this fantastic cafe. The milkshakes are the best and apparently the coffee is amazing too. I would imagine it would be a great place to go to for a coffee catch up over lunch. Would happily visit again.
Have been here on a number of occasions and each time we managed to get the last remaining unbooked table, so i know they can get pretty busy. The meals are filling and i always leave satisfied. Can't complain about the service and the place is quite clean each time i have visited, which is always nice.
The Town Hall Hotel was packed to the brim when i went on a Friday night and inside was incredible warm with all the bodies. The meals took quite a while to come out but we were made aware that could be the case and they really were great value. My meal was so large, i just couldn't fit it all in. The back courtyard is a fantastic set-up with bench seating and arranged in such a way that make it feel private. Would be happy to go back.
