This review is for The Cove Indian Restaurant, Alfred Cove WA

The Cove is one of the very few restaurants that we return to on a regular basis. We seldom have the weekend buffet so will not comment on that but having tried a significant selection of the extensive a la carte menu I can say that since first trying the Cove in early 2010 we have never been disappointed in either the quality of the food or the service.
We occasionally use the take away option as well and of course the quality is just the same.
As is quite common with Indian cuisine the curries are served in bowls for the diner to "dish up" as required - they have a nice little touch where the plates warmed and placed on the table by the wait staff using a napkin - adds a little class to the dining experience.
Th Cove is actually in an old large single story domestic residence and if necessary a separate room can be reserved for a special occasion etc. and of course the old building with so many different rooms creates a particular and enjoyable atmosphere.
We generally have a family meal there around once a month and almost always have something to take home as the servings are quite generous.
One thing that might be worth noting is that, although there is a reasonable car park at the restaurant, on week ends this fills up early (Perth people seem to be early eaters), however, there is a large parking area across the road or just a short distance down Canning Highway which I often use.

Approximate cost: $16.50

This review is for Yoshiya Japanese Restaurant, Perth WA

Had and evening meal there. Simple decor, a bit like a cafe rather than a authentic Japanese restaurant. Service from the manager was good, the wait person was polite but obviously new and untrained. Food was delicious and reasonably presented. I had the feeling that it would be better for lunch or an early casual meal than a formal dinner but just a little expensive. BYO at $3 corkage. Serves great warm sake.

Approximate cost: $ 27

This review is for Alternative Bites Pty Ltd, Winthrop WA

Ordered a chocolate mud cake for sons birthday. Collected it the following day and the decoration was amazing. Devoured it that night and the taste even surpassed the appearance. Considering that all products from Alternative Bites are gluten free and many lactose free this is a gift for people with dietary intolerances. To top it off we were given a gluten free loaf of bread to try at no charge - a really good marketing move and we will definitely return.

Approximate cost: $ 50

This review is for Mt Pleasant Fish Shop, Mount Pleasant WA

After some years out of Perth we went back to our old favourite local fish shop and were delighted to find that, despite the change of ownership, the quality is still good. Service is friendly and surprisingly quick, snapper for $8 is good value and the chips are arguably better than anywhere else.

Approximate cost: $9.00
