Small cafe-bakery with fresh food. The falafel wraps and salads are really delicious. Food tends to be a little pricier but all fresh. They have lots of pies, sweets and some hot food like tuna patties, Thai fish cakes and lasagne. Tables inside and roadside too.

Approximate cost: $15

Funky, Korean trained hairdressers who are very friendly. It's also great value, about $30 for a lady's wash (including a pretty good head massage), style cut and blow dry. There's usually not too many people there so it's always easy to get an appointment and they're open 7 days a week too.

Approximate cost: $30

Great location, next to Collingwood Children's Farm. Relaxing and rustic setting. However, they don't have a huge range of food - mainly sandwiches and pies and some yummy pizzas. And lots of biscuits and cakes. Good to eat and then wander down to the farm for a look see at the animals. Also lots of markets held there on regular basis.

Delicious thin-crust, gourmet, wood-oven fired pizzas!! It's located amidst all the Chinese/Vietnamese eateries of Vic St, Richmond so it's good if you want to eat something else other than asian food. Friendly service too.

Approximate cost: $20 for a large pizza

Good coffee, good food. Weekdays, you can get a coffee and muffin (home-made and delicious and quite healthy tasting too) for $5. The lunch menu is quite good too with daily specials. It's a funky spot inside the Tribeca apartment complex that's easy to get to from the Victoria St tram lines. Staff are quite friendly too.

Approximate cost: $15

Lots of doctors available and most are quite experienced and some specialise in women's health. Also a good location with lots of parking available. The only bad thing is that I've been kept waiting for at least 15 minutes past the appointment time the few times I've been there.

Approximate cost: $0-$55

Great decor - looks like something straight out of mainland China with lots of dark wood and pictures of Chinese streetscape. Central location too with about 3 floors so lots of tables available (but you do need to book!). Lastly, fantastic dumplings. However, the two lunchtimes I've been, pan friend dumplings weren't available..go figure. Great value too.

Approximate cost: $15
