We usually buy our mulch and soil supplies from here as all other suppliers are too far away.
The price for mulch etc is quite reasonable but plants etc are quite expensive and not always in the best condition.
A great read for the locals of Port Denison and Dongara. Contains articles and news on the area, adverts for local businesses and the popular classifieds. A great value for money at only $1.
I have used telecentres in other towns when travelling to check emails.
This one is great. You can use it just to check emails or surf the net, they also run computer courses.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
These are a well trained, helpful and friendly bunch, made up mostley of local volunteers.
They help with everything from fires to car accidents.
I hope I or no one else ever needs their services, but if we do they are ready to help.
A small library, but resonably stocked. They will also get in books for you. There's also a small range of dvds and computer games too.
The library also has a tourist bureau attached. Pamphlets, souveneers and a booking facility for tours and buses.
It is also the towns licencing bureau. You can renew registrations and licences.
A delightful caravan park. We have stayed here twice in an onsite cabin with ensuite.
They have a pool and a childrens playground. But there was rumours that part of the playground was to be removed as someones irresponsible unsupervised kids had hurt themselves, doing what they shouldn't.
A wonderful place whether it be for a honeymoon, romantic getaway or a family holiday.
Stay in the hotel section which over looks the lake. Maybe fish from the balcony. The restaurant has a wide delicious range to choose from. We stayed in a hotel room here on our honeymoon.
Nine years later we returned as a family and stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin amongst the trees. We were able to cater for ourselves in the fully functional kitchen, but we visited the restaurant twice.
There's so much to do here. Wine tasting and wineries are a must as the region as a large amount of wineries to visit. The resort has passes you can purchase for activities or you can pay as you use. I recommend the passes as they are good value. There's canoeing, fishing, swimming of course and mini golf.
Outside the resort there's alot to do besides the wineries. The trout farm nearby was great, everyone is able to catch the trout and when your done they'll prepare and cook it for you and serve with salad and chips. For the fussy like my two, they have chicken nuggets.
Through the resort we booked a cruise up the Donnelly River. I think we travelled about 20km on the river until we reached the beach. While we played on the beach or captain made coffee and muffins.
Pemberton is not far away. Alot of tours can be done here too. The best for us was the ride on the steam train. Only a couple of hours, but the kids loved it.
There is so much to do in the lovely part of WA. This is an area and a resort that everyone should visit.
Both my daughters attended this kindergarten. A choice of two teachers. Like many year levels at this primary school, the teachers have held the same role for to many years and should be moved around to keep them and the ideas fresh. Adequate, but no perfect.
This is the only childcare centre in Dongara. It's centrally located and reasonably priced after the childcare benefit. I have found them great over the years, but recently they've changed hands. My neighbour has had issues with them reguarding them voicing their opinions over leaving her son there after 3.30pm and in doing so crossing the line.
Great service at a reasonable price. They quickly solved our plumbing issue and we've had no problems since. I would recommend Newhills to anyone and everyone.
