It was a real pleasure to stay at The Ark. Rhonda has put so much care into everything about the place and the fixtures and fittings are all top class. The room we had was cosy and the bathroom and shower had underfloor heating which was a joy. The Ark is excellent value for money.
This is a great place to buy unusual gifts. The prices are actually quite reasonable and I buy my scented candles here at the same price as I can get them online.
Roller Door is a hidden gem of a place near North Melbourne station. They do good coffee, interesting food and reasonably priced wine by the glass. Food is as local and organic as possible. There are books everywhere and you are encouraged to read them!
Approximate cost: $12
The bread and croissants (Chocolate or Almond) are wonderful here and you can usually get a seat without any hassle -unlike some other places in North Melbourne. The rolls aren't cheap but they are very tasty. Coffee is good and arrives promptly.
I have been a customer of Eros for several years now which says something because I am super fussy about my hair. I trust Bianca and I love her work. The salon is very bright and airy, it has a relaxed vibe. Highly recommended.
Approximate cost: $80
It's great to have a bookshop in our suburb again. It's a nice place to browse and has an interesting range of books. The children's book section is particularly good. You won't leave empty handed.
I buy all my nuts and flours from Santos. The quality is the best I've come across so it's worth the extra cost of shipping. When there has been a problem with my order it's been sorted out with no hassles at all.
My oasis in the middle of the city. Beautiful inside and so calm and relaxing. The lunch specials arrive within a few minutes and are always tasty. The staff are charming. All the food is suitable for vegetarians (possibly vegans)
Approximate cost: $12.00
Nothing is too much trouble for Gary and his staff. They are always happy to provide advice and make sure you know what you have been prescribed and how to take it properly. A much loved local business.
They make the BEST Laksa here and you don't have to queue for a table like Laksa King. I also love the Gado Gado. Make sure you let the owner know if you are a vego and she'll guide you around the menu. BTW it's cash only.
