I ordered the Seafood Platter special at $15 and my partner ordered the Nachos. It took a long time for our meals to arrive despite very few customers in the cafe. When our meals finally arrived, my Seafood Platter had a tiny amount of chips hiding under the seafood pieces. It was a smaller amount than I would normally expect for a kids meal!!! When I complained about the lack of chips, I was given a tiny handful more on another plate without any apology or acknowledgment that I had been short-changed. My partner's Nachos tasted like they had been made with stale corn chips that weren't very crunchy at all. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience leaving us feeling ripped off. Won't be returning!

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to review this business because it's so good I want to keep it a secret! This is a small mother/son run cafe where you are treated like family. The coffees are always presented with a beautiful decorative swirl in the froth. The food is made to family recipes (the soup is wonderful!) and very good value. Ben and his mum and staff are welcoming of my 2 yr old and her 3 yr old cousin and make them special child sized toasties and milkshakes. It's such a pleasure coming to Our Little Cafe and my favourite place to have a cuppa or bite to eat in Mt Barker.

I love this shop! They sell so many foods that you can't get anywhere else in the area. They are bringing some food culture to Mt Barker!
You can buy a wide range of specialty cheeses and small goods here plus much more.
The staff are knowledgeable about their products and provide personalised service like you used to get in shops before the big supermarket chains monopolised shopping.

The Mt Barker Library has a fantastic Toy Library which is so cheap and easy to access. It's just $18 per year for membership and unlike some other smaller toy libraries, you are not obliged to do regular toy cleaning or other chores. The range of toys is extensive and varied and you can put toys on hold if they're out on loan. I love having "new' toys to offer my daughter each fortnight and it's lovely watching her learn to do different activities during that time period.
The rest of the library is also a fine place to spend time and relax with a book. I don't have a lot of time nowadays to read myself with a young child but in years past I've spent many hours browsing the shelves for books or reading papers or magazines.

Excellent pizzas, good fast service, eat in or takeaway and a delivery service. Pizzas are higher priced than other outlets but definitely better quality. It's hard to find a park nearby when you want to run in and pick up a pizza but that's a problem throughout Mt Barker, not limited to Giovanni's.

I love shopping here! The produce is of good quality and much of it is locally produced. The prices are higher than supermarkets for the most part but the quality is much better. They sell large bags of Laucke bread mixes at practically the same price as buying it straight from the mill. They have a wide range of gourmet products for that special occasion and the atmosphere is bright, welcoming and fresh. You can't go wrong shopping here.

I've recently started swimming lessons here with my toddler. State Swim is a fairly small facility but it's well run and the instructors are lovely. The pool is not over-chlorinated which I've found to be a problem at some other public pools. The water temperature and ambient air temperature are lovely and warm which is especially important when babies and toddlers are learning to swim. The instructors use a variety of interesting water aides and sing songs and include playful activities in the lessons which keeps it fun and happy. The change rooms are pretty small and there are only two showers but it isn't usually too crowded. You can play in the pool with your child before and after the actual swimming lesson if you wish so you definitely get your money's worth. If you play for a little while after your child's lesson is complete, the main rush through the change rooms slows down and then you can get in without waiting long.

I went to this hardware store and was pleasantly surprised at how helpful the staff were. I had a list of items I wanted to buy or get prices for and a nice young man walked around the store with me showing me the location of each item and getting prices as necessary. They were able to solve a plumbing problem for me and took an order for an advertised item that had not yet come into stock so I would not miss out on the special. They always have good specials in their catalogues. Perhaps they don't have the enormous range that Bunnings has, but they offer a better level of service and a more personal shopping experience.

I found this site cheapest for Feliway products and my order was dispatched promptly. The product came with a slip of paper stating the names of the people who received my order, picked it and packed it for mailing. It made the purchase slightly more personal as I could imagine the people behind the scenes rather than it being a totally impersonal purchase.
