This review is for Eves on The River, New Farm QLD

I loved having dinner at Eves on the River, it was hard to get a reservation on a Saturday night as they have a lot of wedding bookings but when we finally made it, it was definitely worth the wait. Staff are friendly and its priced accordingly considering the location and quality of the food and service.
My husband and I shared some tapas followed by a mushroom risotto for me and steak for him. Both meals were fantastic!

Approximate cost: $25-$35

This review is for Goa Doodle Do, Woolloongabba QLD

I found this restaurant via a voucher in the entertainment book. They have a really interesting Goan menu. I tried the Chicken Xacuti curry and my husband tried the Goan Spiced Lamb. Both dishes were delicious - the only thing I should mention is that they wouldn't alter the spiciness of the dishes so if you don't like hot food there might not be as much choice on this menu for you. Great service and great value.

Approximate cost: $18-$30

This review is for Yummy Mummy, Grange QLD

I loved going to pregnancy Pilates and fit ball classes at Yummy Mummy throughout my pregnancy. Paula and her team also offer physiotherapy, massage, active birth classes, and after bub is born they offer regular Pilates plus mums and bubs classes.
Rebates are available on the Pilates classes too making them even better value then they already are.

Approximate cost: $17-$20 per class

This review is for El Dorado 8 Cinema Centre, Indooroopilly QLD

I love going to the movies at Eldorado when Im over this side of Brisbane, they have reasonable priced tickets, a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere and you are not bombarded with cinema advertising before a movie.
Candy bar is just as expensive as every other cinema though.

Approximate cost: $11

This review is for Harajuku Gyoza, Fortitude Valley QLD

verified email - 01 Oct 2012

I read about this restaurant in The Good Guide and was very excited to try it out. I wasn't disappointed! I went there with two friends on a Tuesday night and it was busy, they do not take reservations so if you go on the weekend expect to wait a while at the bar.
The atmosphere is lots of fun at Harajuku Gyoza, the japanese beers are fantastic and if you order Sake the staff all cheer you on.
The selection of gyoza is quite large with options of steamed or fried fillings such as vegetarian, duck, pork and seafood. They also offer side dishes of edamame, tofu, pork and chicken.

This review is for Patton's Big Gun Butchery, Victoria Point QLD

I was really impressed with Patton's Big Gun Butchery, they have a great range of meat and deli products at wholesale prices and their fruit and veg section rivals some of the markets around Brisbane for freshness & quality. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

This review is for Little Street Cafe, Toowoomba QLD

This little Indian place also does breakfast as I found out early one Saturday morning when I was driving along the quiet main street of Toowomba, most places opened at 10 but Little Street Cafe was open at 8. They make a really good coffee, offer lots of different types of smoothies and their bacon & eggs were spot on. The staff were really friendly and the service was quick.

This review is for Golf Club, Toowoomba QLD

We recently visited Toowoomba for a wedding and were recommended this club for dinner on the Friday night. Its a huge venue and they offer a (pre-booked) courtesy bus to and from nearby hotels. The meals were huge and about half included a fresh salad & veggie bar. I would definitely eat here again when visiting Toowoomba.

Approximate cost: $18-$25

This review is for Bright Bots, Stafford QLD

verified email - 18 Sep 2012

The Bright Bots factory outlet in Stafford is only open Thurs-Sat but definitely worth a visit for some bright coloured baby clothing and accessories at really great prices. Bright Bots have thought outside the pastel pink and blue box that so many other baby brands are mass producing and have some really beautiful items along with some samples starting at $2!

This review is for Mama's Home, Windsor QLD

I love this shop for inspiration, it is decorated with lots of beautiful items and can be a great place to go to get some ideas for a babies nursery. I also used Mamas home for my baby shower invites, they have a good selection which isnt overpriced. Along with a massive range of babies and childrens clothing, and accessories they also sell maternity wear by brands such as metallicus. Definitely worth a visit if you are on the north side and looking for something a bit special.
