Way, way, way overpriced. The charge $10+ for generic mainstream beers and an absolute fortune for small servings of decent food. On the plus side the views are fantastic and the service itself is very good. It is a nice place to relax and catch up with mates - just don't expect to come home with any savings. You can get better beer, better prices, better food and better views at Clancys 10 minutes down the road.
The best pies anywhere. Huge range of really interesting types of pies including Lasagne pies and my favourite - game meat pies. It's expensive, but well worth it, a must stop on the road down south!
The best range of craft beers in Australia (literally). They have some of the rarest beers from around the world, and get in kegs of international craft beer to sell in growlers now too. The staff have very good knowledge of their products and hey, considering the quality of beer the prices really aren't that bad.
Amazing Ice cream, and I'm sure if they weren't so busy all the time they could focus more on customers - but they get so many people coming in to churn through, especially summer evenings! The price is what you'd expect for good ice cream with whatever you want in it.
The greatest and biggest range of steak I've seen anywhere. The atmosphere and service is fantastic. It is bloody expensive, but the quality is absolutely unbeatable. The only place that wont look at you weirdly for ordering a blue steak.
Exactly what a pub should be. Friendly, laid back and casual, full of great people you can go up to and talk to. And the place gets it's Jive on on weekends :)
For a nightclub it's great. I don't like nightclubbing at all but even I was quite happy being here. It's a really well kept and elegant club without the pomp that usually comes with high market venues.
They have so many quality meat brands and game meats that you can't find anywhere else in Perth - and certainly not in supermarkets. The staff really know their stuff and make some brilliant pre-made meals. You do pay a little more than your average supermarket, but the quality and service are far superior
For beer and food matching, the monk is unbeatable - they really know what beers go with what foods. It is very expensive but if you keep with the daily specials it's no more than you'd pay at a normal restaurant.
The beer is good, the food is great and the views are unbeatable. A very relaxed and non-pompous bar/cafe/brewery literally right on the beach (not even a road between it and the sand). One of the only places left that will let you in with sandy feet and thongs, something every Australian is entitled to!
