We had lunch here on a lovely sunny day. Every table was occupied but they made room for us, and the waitress even asked if I would like a cushion because the chair seemed a bit low for me.
The food was delicious: the chips are real potatoes, the pork was tender and sweet, and the coffee was great. They bring water and glasses complete with ice and lemon, a nice touch.
The pancakes looked amazing, stacked four high with ice cream and fruit.
The place being so full of happy customers, it was noisy inside, and there is a bit of traffic noise when the windows are opened right up. I didn't see the loos so I can't comment on them.
I feel sure we will go back and try other items on the menu.

Approximate cost: $17

This place looks like somewhere to go after a movie. They have made it a very welcoming place to eat, with both inside and outside dining. Ambience was good with funky decor.
We had weekday lunch and it was quiet but it would get noisy with lots of people in there.
We all enjoyed our meals, and they were on the generous side which we liked. They provided iced water with lemon on request, and their chips were hot and fresh. The menu is quite extensive too. Not much service provided; you order and pay at the counter. Definitely a place to go back to.

I had heard about a cafe in the last piece of the old Waverley Park footy ground and thought it would be an interesting place to see.
Sure enough, there is one piece left standing, of what were the stands around a VFL footy oval. The oval is still there as a public space, surrounded by houses.
The cafe opens at both ends so you can sit outside and look over the oval if you like - very peaceful, watching young families frolic on the green grass below.
They cater for those with dietary intolerances, do breakfast most of the day, and have interesting food choices.
I had a quinoa salad, which was really yummy, and I could see that a lot of other people had the same thing.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
It could get noisy in there, with lots of windows and wooden floors, but when I was there the noise level was tolerable.
I would go back again when I am in the area.

Haven't been able to fault the service or product here.
The girls are friendly, and they come to you for your order if there is a long queue.
Flavour is added to the coffee for free, if you ask for it.

At first this seemed expensive but it was a fantastic experience. They look after their customers really well and try to make the trip as interesting as possible. Our guys went out of their way to find a whale for us and they did!
The scenery on the 3-hour Bruny Island Cruise was spectacular, although we did have a lovely, clear sunny day. If it was raining the views wouldn't be as good but the staff would do their best to make you feel it was a worthwhile day.
You can buy your morning tea and lunch at the base in Adventure Bay, and it looked like reasonable value. We took our own food and they didn't mind.
You won't need to take much with you on the boat. They supply everything, including the seasickness tablets.
A waterproof camera would be a good idea.
Incidentally, if you plan to see much of Bruny Island while you are there, stay over for at least one night. You can't see much in half a day and still make it back to the ferry in time.

When I have been there the variety of food has been great and much of it has been home-made.
The area out the back is a real find, decorated in rustic style with a lovely, surprisingly large, waterfall.
You can also sit out the front and watch the world go by.
Inside they have cosy gas log fires for winter dining.
The front is accessed by steps but for those with mobility issues you can go in on flat ground via the back door - just park beside the Post Office part of the building.
General parking is across the road but there is a pedestrian crossing right there.
Licensed.

This park is not set up to impress you with high-tech Effects.
It exists to look after Australian wildlife and it does a magnificent job. They rehabilitate injured animals, and the guided tour give you a great insight into the wonderful work they are doing. They let you hold a wombat (I want one!!) and explain the amazing natural behaviours of the animals they care for. We learned so much about, especially, wombats and Tassie devils by going around with the guy who runs the place.
Try to go at devil feeding time (mid to late afternoon for us) to observe how they co-operate with each other. The guide went into the devils' pen while they were feeding! I would never imagined it would be possible for a sane person to do that. But my opinion of devils has changed, now I understand their place in the ecosystem. They are incredibly useful animals and we need to see them repopulate the island.
Please go and support this cause. Pay the money for the tour and help them keep doing their fantastic work!

I have eaten here several times, for breakfast and for lunch.
The food is yummy and very good value.
You can buy food from the fridge, to take away and heat up at home.
They do freshly squeezed juice, T2 teas, and you should see the selection of cakes!
It is a bit noisy when it's full because the floor is marble.
The toilet needs a bit of attention, so if you don't need it don't use it!

When we arrived they had a quiet table reserved for us but when we asked to move they gave us great seats right by the window, still private but we could see all the people coming and going.
The wait staff really know their stuff, and are able to describe in detail all the intricacies of the menu. We went with the 'Quick Kat', which is the tapas-style sharing meal. Each of the small offerings was plated decoratively or innovatively (the bread for dipping came in a brown paper bag and the white bait was in a cardboard 'Dixie' cup).
The mix of flavours was imaginative but it worked well. We shared a dessert (peanut butter ice cream rolled in baklava crumbs - YUM), which came with a sparkler and special garnish for our anniversary. That was a nice touch.
This restaurant is one of our new favourites for special occasions, but there were a lot of frequent-flyers in there with kids, who must just treat it like 'the local'.
Highly recommended.

This is a lovely cafe with a lot of home-baked goodies.
We had trouble deciding what to have but our choice was good.
There is a little shop attached, selling quality souvenirs, and a beautiful garden with meandering creek out the back, which we were invited to walk in.
It is also a guest house, and given the delightful location it would be well worth considering as a place to stay as well.
