The Wildside Cafe is a small cafe and general store at Fern Tree at the foot of Mount Wellington. They make great coffee, and cakes and slice, which are perfect after a bushwalk on the mountain or a drive to the snow at the top of the mountain. The couple who run the shop are very friendly, and obviously love the area that they live and work in. The shop also sells milk, bread, newspapers and other basic groceries, along with some local cards and crafts. They also do yummy cafe style meals up to about 7pm at night (perfect if you are late getting back from the mountain!). And they also sell tubs of the fabulous Tassie ice-cream, Valhalla. The cafe is a very pleasant little place to visit.
