I spent $28000 on a 13.2kw solar and 13.3kw battery. Smiley didn't even come on site to do the quote, was told he wanted $1000 to come on site. He made claims and promises about the expected production of solar even considering he was aware I have some fairly minor shade issues. Install date was changed 2 times and finally when it came time to do the job, Cam from Ultimate Electrical decided to send 2 junior guys whilst he was taking his kids to school on the mainland. The junior guys informed me the install date was to be changed to a 3rd date. I'd had enough by this stage and wanted to cancel the job. In hindsight I wish I hadn't relented. 2nd day junior guy falls whilst on the roof and goes home. 2nd junior guy goes with him and doesn't come back, so the sparky is left to do the job on his own for the rest of the week. To his credit, he worked till dark. My wife fed him and we even lent him our mainland car so he didn't have to take his truck on the barge. Since install I tried to ring Cam a number of times as we had a few teething issues, but to this date I haven't had one return call from him. I managed to get another sparky back to change the CT clamp who told me Cam won't do anymore work for Smiley because he wouldn't pay him. I have tried many, many times in the last 2 months to contact Smiley as the system is only producing about half of the expected solar generation. Any time Smiley contacts me, he can't get off the phone quick enough and just fobs me off. He recommended I go with Amber Energy and I have just received my 1st bill with them for 46 days @ $262 which would equate to a quarterly bill of around $500. Hardly a "Zero bill with some credits" as promised. Bottom line- I am extremely unhappy and disappointed with a so-called "reputable" company like Wattsup and would in no way recommend them to anyone. One of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
