I went here once and that was enough for me. I had high expectations for such a busy place. It has an Americana style menu but I left feeling quite underwhelmed. Worth a try, but as I've been to better places with a similar menu, I won't be going back here.

I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is in Melbourne. The food is the best I have ever had, especially their ribs and burgers. The portions were also so big that I struggled to finish my meal. This is now my go to cafe in Melbourne, I absolutely love it.

This is my favourite cafe in Melbourne and I've been to quite a few. Everything they do is absolutely delicious, including the coffee itself and the customer service never let me down. Totally recommend.

It was our last night in Melbourne so our family decided to take us to one of their favourite restaurants. I could understand why, this place offers real american bbq, oh the ribs! the chicken wings! the burgers! I cannot say enough about them, just awesome, flavoursome, quality food. We all struggled to finish our meals, well we did order a lot, no one wanted to waste one bite. The service was great, our food exceptional and servings very generous, prices were reasonable. A faboulous meal to finish off our Melbourne holiday. Thank you Third Wave!

Third Wave is located on a side street off the main Bay street area. It’s surrounded by apartment buildings and seems a little bit hidden away.
By day it’s a café but by night it’s a meat lovers paradise. You have ribs and burgers and all sorts of delicious treats.
Highly recommended for people who love that stuff. They also have great sides - smoked mac & cheese, chicken wings etc.

It's definitely different to the type of cafe which has been opening up all over melbourne lately. The small, trendy, slightly hipster kind.
Third wave is more 'sydney' than 'melbourne'. That said it does deliver. The servings are generous, menu pleasant (they over a russian page for europeans missing home) and food reliable.
Atmosphere was a little lacking though... and there was also something is in the experience which I could not put a finger on.
If you live in the area, it would be part of the 'local' places you would visit every now and then. However, I wouldn't make special trip for it.

Great coffee, good service & excellent quality food with great value for money. Can get very busy on the weekends, so weekdays is always a good time to pop in, if for a short time or a long time, the experience is positive & I would recommend it. Thanks and keep up the friendly service. Well done

Third Wave is a russian owned cafe. Their coffee is pretty good, their service could be just a little friendlier for their local patrons. they are fairly quick with their food & coffee.

Fantastic Chia! Love it. Can't beat it anywhere! Great music too. Love the big table so I can do my work on my laptop with free internet. Best cafe in Port Melbourne
