Really liked this pub it had a good feel to it. We understood why they won an award for excellence, the food was fabulous as well as the staff being very efficient and friendly. We ordered from the bar menu and I have to say it was difficult choosing which meal to have as they all seemed extremely appetising. My husband had the 250g rump steak and I had the chicken schnitzel with peppercorn gravy, salad and chips (loved the gravy). Our meals were excellent, my husband said his steak was perfect. Our meals tasted very fresh and of a high quality, also generous servings. The prices were a bit high for a meal from the pub menu, but they were delicious. This is a place we will definitely return to. It was a fab lunch before we were off trying more wine.

Food superb. They won an award for it in 2013. Accommodation was a mews cottage circa 1850 refurbished circa 1900+ bathroom had claw foot bath and the gardens were pretty. The hotel was packed day and night for the holiday weekend

What a beautiful country pub! It was located within walking distance of our bed and breakfast accommodation. The dining room is small and cosy. It was a lovely setting for a romantic dinner. The menu was traditional pub fare. My husband and I both had the steak, which was cooked to our liking (medium). Drinks were reasonably priced. It was nice to see that they had a few of the local Rieslings on their wine list.

I would definitely eat there again if we ever head to Auburn again.

A beautiful pub with good service. Disappointed to order the vegie risotto and ask for no goat's curd or any dairy in it and find it came out with a massive pile of cheese on top and all through it!! Hmmmmm.

Approximate cost: $18

A gorgeous setting for a lovely meal. This place is heritage listed and the building is breath taking. They have a heap of different areas where you can choose to sit and eat. They offer pub food mostly but do a mean pasta too. lovely place worth a visit.

My partner and I enjoyed a meal at The Rising Sun Hotel in Auburn. We ate in a really nice dining room and the food was beautiful. I had lamb and it was fantastic. We then had some drinks on the front bar outside and watched the sun set. It is a nice pub in a really nice country town. If you ever stay at Auburn, S.A then I would recommend stopping in here. They have a lunch menu & a great range of wine. The front bar had a relaxed feel and the two dining rooms are very nice.

Approximate cost: $22.00
