The House of Bamboo is one delicious Chinese restaurant. The food is yummy, fairly-priced and the servings are generous. I stopped here for dinner on my way back from Sydney and was very plesantly surprised. The decor & toilets could use a facelift, but if you look past that detail, my husband and I had a good dining experience here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We had take out tonight. With beef in heavenly sauce and garlic chicken with plain rice. A very nice meal . We eat here at least once every two weeks and the food is always good .
Bit disappointing we can not eat in due to no kids menu . Miss four who has autism does not eat Chinese food .. So we can not eat in . The decor is daggy but the service and food is always really good .. The staff are stretched but do not seem to mind .pretty sure it's a family affair ,they work really hard . Happy to go back ..
Oh there delivery is great and the food is always hot ...we paid 36 dollars for a meal for two what a bargain..

Approximate cost: $36

No wow factor but a good feed overall. We went for lunch and had satay chicken and Sichuan beef fried rice and dim sims. The dim sims were a bit tasteless but nice with sauce, they need a bit more flavour. Sichuan was yum and spicy! My mates satay was good and the rice was tasty. I always think with Chinese if you can serve great entrees it makes a huge impression. Oh and for lunch it's only $8 for dish and rice, bargain!!!

Approximate cost: $8 lunch

The dishes at this restaurant was a bit average and even though our table ordered a 5 dishes, non were a standout. The service was prompt and efficient.

Bought some take away from here tonight which my family and I all enjoyed. Restaurant had no patrons dining in but there was a regular procession of people popping in to order and the phone rang constantly! Only two staff greeting customers and running orders to the kitchen and they seemed a little stretched but were very polite and efficient. I was quoted 15-20mins for pickup however was it was closer to 30mins. Noticed bonus free mini spring rolls were missing from my bag thankfully before I got into my car, so they quickly returned to the kitchen for them with apologies. We totally recommend the Chicken with Cashews, Honey Chicken and Braised Pork in Plum Sauce from here. Decor is a bit daggy as it hasn't changed in many years but this place has a comfortable casual vibe and the food is great!

Approximate cost: $12.00

Glad to hear you enjoyed your meal on Sunday night at The House of Bamboo. The staff seem to be quiet busy. And you had o bit of a wait for your meal.

IMO the food is more important than the decor. After all the food is what you go for isn't it.

Service was swift, helpful and very efficient. The restaurant was reasonably quiet when I went so it remains to be seen what it would be like at full capacity.
The food was delicious. We ordered lemon chicken, bbq pork in plum sauce and salt and pepper king prawns. all dishes were plentiful and very tasty. I made a comment at the table that the king prawns were up there as the best I'd had anywhere. Big call but true.
With entrees and drinks etc. the meal cost under $100 which for 5 people represents excellent value for money.
