Do you love Plantation shutters and live in Melbourne? The Fitter is a Melbourne wide company that will meet and exceed all of your expectations when it comes to shutters. We cut out the showrooms and expensive salaries of the decorators and sell straight to you, removing a layer of costs and possible problems.

The Fitter was tired of fitting product for other companies and seeing all of the mistakes and poor service that went on so he decided to do it himself, only better.

What you are after is someone that knows what they are talking about, someone that will not waffle their way past the technical questions that always come up, someone that will be honest and give you the same fair deal he gave the last customer.

OUR PRODUCTS

We sell and fit all types of blinds, shutters and awnings to Melbourne's beautiful homes. From roller blinds to venetian blinds, aluminium outdoor shutters to Ziptrak blinds, PVC shutters to honeycomb blinds, Panel glides to wooden venetians, we fit the lot.

Different blinds for different situations

Alfrescos and Decks

If you have an alfresco area that needs some protection from the elements, we can do Cafe blinds or Ziptrack blinds. These come in clear or tinted PVC, or mesh fabrics to still give you a view while protecting you and your deck. Maybe you need the roof covered? Then get some roof louvres, fixed or operable.

Maybe you love the look of plantation shutters, so you could use our aluminium shutters and screen off sections. Protect your barbie from the rain and don't worry about the smoke damaging fabrics. Have the panels fixed in place or stick in a sliding or bi folding track so you can get them back out of the way.

External

If you want to make a huge difference to the temperature of your house in Summer, then you need to get an external blind or awning to stop the sun hitting the glass. Do that, and you're winning the battle. We do anything from your old style pull down awning in canvas, to your modern mesh fabrics which you can see through and they can be motorised too. Or what about a folding arm awning that can be brought out to give you some shade to sit under, but retracted when it's not needed?

Indoors

For indoors, we can create so many different looks with the myriad of blinds and shutters available. Roman blinds for the softer feel, in contemporary or traditional styles. Pelmets to dress your window and hide the screen roller blinds that we use to give shade but keep your view. Plantation shutters are so clean and crisp, they can look both modern and traditional, clinical or warm depending on what style you choose.

Alan fitted a motorised external sun screen blind for us on a very large west facing second story window, including putting us in touch with electrician who could do the wiring. It was an awkward job with several considerations and Alan was more than happy to take the time to explore all possible options, before we went ahead. We were sent large samples of the fabric we were tossing up between, to ensure that we chose the right one by viewing both in a range of light conditions. Nothing was too much trouble, including coming back later to remove a loose rivet that was trapped in the pelmet! Alan was both professional and personable, great to deal with all round and I would highly recommend and use him again without any hesitation whatsoever.

Approximate cost: $1700

We had wooden blinds put into our bedrooms as well as blackout blinds. It was nice to have someone show up when they said they would. I was unsure about what I wanted and Alan provided me with some great ideas. Very happy with the results they look better than I imagined, would definitely recommend.

The fitter was very professional, prompt, he provided excellent service along with a high quality product.
We had shutters fitted to most of our windows they look fantastic, they are very practical and we have found them a great investment.

Approximate cost: $4000
