1 review about The Doll Hospital

This place is an institution. A must for all ages; Go and view the window, so beautifully filled with treasures, of life portraying faces of dolls from all over the world. I have visited this store with no particular interest in dolls for myself but to see the artistry and imagination of those who design such faces and craft such clothes is really something. My grandmother was an artisan dress maker mainly of mens suits back in the 20's to the 40's. What she could not design with newspaper and a pair of scissors could not be told or recorded. This brought me to appreciate the workmanship of artisans of all fields of endeavour but the family line in this store continues to bring history and faces alive for those who need that sentimental piece or that historic article restored or that special gift that could leave you breathless. You won't find such a selection of beautiful character dolls anywhere like this that I know of.

You're certainly correct about The Doll Hospital being an institution. I grew up in Hurstville in the 60s and 70s and for as long as I can remember The Doll Hospital was there. I'm glad to see that it's still going, as so many shops from my youth have closed.
