My husband and I were purchasing some plants and hardware next door at Mitre 10 and decided a coffee would be nice. We left our car at Mitre 10 because parking is limited at the Artel. Found the set up to be very nice, the staff were pleasant and our coffee hit the spot. The menu looked good but we only required coffee.
Had lunch on Father's Day and the food was
delicious and very generous portions. The staff were fantastic and the table service was faultless. Thanks for making a special day
fantastic food, well priced and and great value for money. Staff were very friendly and efficient. I must go to place if you are ever passing through mclarenvale
Approximate cost: $15
Yep really good I would suggest checking on those online coupon sites cos I did get a good discount for here using one of those
Don't know why there are so many bad reviews going around about this place. I didn't actually find anything that bad about it.
The inside was cozy and they stated us off with this huge platter that did justice to good food.
However, the following mains were just mediocre. Nothing as good as the starters.
My wife and I have enjoyed many breakfasts and lunches here. Most recently tried the Reef and Beef, my porterhouse was unfortunately overcooked, yet I asked for it to be med-rare. My meal didn't taste as good as it looked. My wife enjoyed her frittata but agreed, The Artel was not the usual standard we had previously experience. Staff seemed disinterested and extremely slow. Quite disappointing.
Ventured here for lunch today - our first visit.
Ordered a "States Platter" to share. It was very busy as there seemed to be a private "Hens do" in the other half of the restaurant and there were only 2 girls serving. We got a platter after only 15 minutes, which we thought was pretty good but then 2 minutes later (and before we had a chance to eat anything, thank goodness), they came and claimed it back.... they had given us the wrong one. We had to wait another 20 minutes for our correct platter to arrive.
To their credit, it was beautiful - The Salt and Pepper Squid was hot and cooked to perfection, the Beetroot dip was divine, the Asian prawn salsa was delish plus the fresh Salad, Ham, Salami and Prosciutto was very tasty. Served with Olives, Dill Pickles, Pita Bread pieces, water crackers and bread sticks, it was BEAUTIFUL! (There was also 2 Oysters in their shells but as neither of us liked them, they got left on the plate). We did look at the desert menu but thought that $12 was a bit steep for a piece of Lime Key Pie.
We were quite full from the platter though, so very happy.
Would definitely come back - 8/10.
A new place to visit
Our most recent experience was quite disappointing, slow service and overcooked steak!
My wife and i have enjoyed breakfast and lunch here a couple of times now, we have always been impressed with how consistantly great their service and meals are.
A very well set out cafe/restaurant with seating outside aswell. Serving sizes are generous, everything is always fresh, delicious and well presented. A must try is their wood fire pizzas.
They also have live entertainment in the evenings, we haven't been for diner yet, but will be shortly.
The Artel gets very busy, especially on weekends, but well worth it, you will not be disappointed.
Nice place to eat, staff great, food lovely, had the salmon with potato discs, cooked the way I like it, husband had the gluten free option of the Kiev Cut chicken breast which he enjoyed. Nice 1930 decor.
Approximate cost: $24.00
great info, sounds lovely, will have to try it!
