1 review about Tamageta-ya Japanese

Tamageta-ya is only recently opened, the location is directly opposite its' sister restaurant, Sushi Samurai. Initially we were actually going to Sushi Samurai but then saw the new shop opened next door so decided to give it a try. Tamageta-ya serves fresh seafood, Japanese dishes, in fact the food comes from the kitchen inside Sushi Samurai. I ordered a Hokkaido Chirashi Rice bowl and I loved it. The serving portion was generous with fresh sashimi, sea urchin and lots of fish roes. We also ordered takoyaki, a grilled kingfish head, salty chicken wings, grilled eggplant and the dragon roll with cream cheese which were all very delicious. I love the Japanese baby mayonaise on all the dishes and asked for more. The wait staff were very courteous and friendly as well, always topping up our green tea. For dessert, we ordered the green tea flavoured ice cream, black sesame with red beans. The ice-cream balls were huge! They also served lunch and dinner buffet which I am definitely going to try next time. We paid around $25 per person which is quite cheap and reasonable for Japanese cuisine. The place is BYO as well which is great!

Approximate cost: $25
