Horrible experience. Last lesson the instructor diverted her attention to another child and my son went under for several seconds, swallowing a bunch of water. I jumped in to get him. Several minutes later he vomited in the pool and I was treated more or less like a nuisance. Next class was over crowded and my son had no ledge to hold on to. I was told he had to be in the middle area where the water was over his head and he had no room. If I wanted him to go in, I would need to be in there with him as I was given no attention or instructions. When I got in with him, I was completely ignored by the instructor and only told by the manager to get out of the way a couple times. Frustrated, I brought my son to the other end of the pool to try to get the instructor's attention to include my son. He gave me instructions to sit him on the edge then tried to have him jump to him. He was calling for me and crying so I had him jump to me. From that point we were completely ignored until the class finished. 3 minutes after the class finished I was promptly told by the manager to get out as I was i the way of the next class. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the experience and was treated with defensiveness and amazingly was told that I was ignoring them! I was not even spoken to! Again, horrible experience, money wasted, what a joke.

My 5 year old son has a vision impairment and had been moved from a larger pool in the area (due to the children having to get out without assistance, walk around numerous parents/obstacles unaided and then get back in down the other end). I was actually checking out another option after visiting Swim Stars but felt totally relaxed talking to the owner (Sam) and observing others in the pool. Classes are smaller, it's $2 per lesson cheaper than other schools and they do not make you pay for school holidays. My son was also very stressed about putting his head under water due to the trial lesson at the other bigger swim school. He was yelled at at the other one and forced to put his head under water so was very stressed about doing any lessons anywhere.
The staff at Swim Stars were so gentle and the swimming teacher (another Sam) listed to all of my concerns. My son loves attending Swim Stars and has no fear of going under water. His progression from zero water skills to now is a testament to the time spent on each child and the method used to teach. Absolutely love the place. :)

Approximate cost: $17 per lesson

My daughter was afraid to put her face in the water after having a bad experience at another swim school. The teachers Swim Stars were very kind and understanding of her fears. With their care and attention has developed water confidence and progressing well. She loves receiving her special certificate each term.

Approximate cost: $12

My family have been to a few swim schools but we have not seen our daughters learn as much as they have at Swim Stars. The girls have had the same teachers for nearly 12 months!! The staff are very friendly and helpful and have a genuine care for my girls. There is consistency in teaching and a friendly, caring atmosphere. Swimming is now fun for my girls and not something "mum & dad" are making them do.

Approximate cost: $12
