I’ve just spent 2 weeks in this wonderful hospital. There are no words that explain my appreciation for the efforts they went to, too rectify a serious infection that was resistant to the current antibiotic. This problem had been in my body since 2016 following my Gall bladder removal
I Thank Dr Banting, Dr Bradshaw. Dr Darby and the wonderful team of surgeons and infectious disease specialist that were tasked with my recovery. They were also supported by a very professional group of nurses and staff.
Thank you, thank you.

I recently spent 5 days at St V's for the birth of my first child. Overall I had a really positive experience here. My hubby was able to stay overnight which was great. Although we were offered a room with a double bed, the room we were initially given with a single bed (and pullout for the hubby) had such a beautiful view of the city, and was comfortable enough that we elected to stay put. It was really just like a nice hotel room.
We had some really lovely and genuinely supportive midwives during the stay. We had up to 3 different midwives looking after us each day, and not a single one was anything but helpful and supportive. Some were quite brilliant. We felt so supported that we weren't keen to take up the offer of a night at the Hyatt. Would much rather have access to all on offer at the hospital than leave just for the thrill of staying in a fancy hotel for a night.
The hospital has lactation consultants on staff too, and both that we dealt with were great. We also visited the breastfeeding clinic at the hospital a week after our discharge. The clinic was just fantastic, and a real asset to the hospital.
Overall, I can't fault the service we received from pre-admission contact, parenting classes, our hospital stay through to the breastfeeding clinic and follow-up pastoral care.
In my experience the food was much better than expectations. It wasn't 5-star dining, but was the equivalent of a standard city pub dinner. Really nothing to complain about at all.

I had both my children there and found the hospital midwives to be very supportive and understanding of my needs. The agency nursing staff used by the hospital on a casual basis were fairly ordinary and generally weren't to helpful. The room was comfortable and offered privacy for me, my husband and boys. It was much like a hotel room, however the food was disappointing. I will be using them again if we go back for a third.

I had my first (and only) baby at St Vincents. The midwives were great, very patient and attentive and they did not give conflicting information.

The room was good although it was very noisy and you were often being asked if you want coffee, paper etc etc. The food was very ordinary.
I ended up opting to leave early and you get a package if you do so. We got a voucher for a nappy company which the nappies lasted 6 months! They also sent a midwife to your house to make sure you are ok once you got home (if you left early).

The only negative thing was that they kept putting me off on the phone as to when I should go in. In the end i decided that I had to go in, as it turns out I should have been there much earlier.
Also prenatal classes - seemed to be a waste of time. Information and person presenting were both pretty tired and outdated.

Had my first baby here and most of the midwives were fabulous... I do have to comment about the food tho which was terrible! The care in which you recieve at the hospital is great and well worth having private health insurance for. If you are going to the prenatal classes, be prepared for outdated information and info that you probably won't need.

Had my first baby here and they were just great, midwives were wonderful and very supportive. Only had one bad nurse the whole stay and my son went into special care for a few days and they were just great too. Will go back again for sure. Had health cover so cost was not a problem.
