My son got his glasses from SpecSavers and they were great with him. He was 4 when he first got glasses and they were very patient with him. We continue to go there annually for a new set and check up.
they have great choice for the kids - Mr Men/star wars frames and so on.
We have been in a few times to get the glasses adjusted or the nose pieces replaced and they always do this free of charge.
We haven't been out of pocket as our health fund covers it - which getsh im 2 pairs. They often have deals also - we got 3 pairs for the same price the first time, which came in very handy.

Approximate cost: $190 - but free with health fund

Specsavers is certainly cheap, however I'm not sure if the quality is there. My contact lenses are from there, and I don't think that they're the right prescription. I won't go there again.

This is the cheapest optometrist I have ever been to without substituting quality and customer service. They have highly competitive prices and extras, experienced staff and a wide range of frames to choose from, which suits me fine as I am very fussy with how my glasses suit when I have to wear the everyday.

Approximate cost: $179.00

Have had my eyes tested by the professional people at specsavers several times and have always been very satisfied. They have a vidio imaging machine that records my eyes and helps with the tests needed as a diabetic. Good follow up with repairs etc.
