With my husband working in Mount Gambier at the moment I decided to take a short trip and join him for a few days. This cafe was great for a morning coffee and breakfast, my pancakes were superb, but after eyeing off my husbands egg and bacon focaccia I knew I had to try it the following day and oh, it was so delicious and a definite must try. A nice cafe with quick friendly service.

Arrived at Mt Gambier for out little holiday down the coast and this was the first place that we stopped. Inviting enough and good for a coffee. Not really time for a meal, but we had a good look at the menu and they have a nice range of food options. Their coffee was very nice and the area provided a chance to sit outside and take in the serenity of Mt Gambier.

Sorrentos have yummy food but on this occasion we didn't have such good service, we went on kids eat free Monday but we were kind of made to feel unwelcome when they came and told us you had to order off the main menu (ie not pasta, pizza, stir fry etc) to get the free kids meal. My boys like their meals but were not overly big and one of my sons ate quite a bit of my pad Thai. Would probably not go back for kids eat free

Found a leaflet regards Sorrentino's in our motel, decided to try the cafe as it was central. Comprehensive menu, some great choices Pizza's, Salads, Pastas, Risotto, Asian, Grills etc. We ordered steaks, my partners was great, medium rare, mine was not so great as I like mine well done, there was an offer to take mine back and cook it further, but I was put off because it was undercooked and I had eaten all the salad and fries anyway. Couldn't fault the staff member looking after our table, but no blood at all means just that....

Great food, great atmosphere. Unfortunately the service isn't quite as amazing lately... However, it is still great service compared to most places.

They advertised for the Monday purchase an adults meal and get a childs meal for free. I am so glad we came, the meals were delicious. My daughter is usually a grazer but she ate it all up. Waitress was really friendly when my daughter was talking to her. Sometimes staff dont want to take the time. I ordered pasta and it was a huge plate. I looked at other peoples orders as they were served and they all looked so nice.

Have eaten there at evening meal time and at breakfast time.
Wide variety of choice in their menu, food was good and the place has a nice feel. Only complaint is the waitresses were understaffed at breakfast and we had to wait too long.

Approximate cost: $18

The ambiance is very good here and the food is very nice. They served us up a large plate of pasta each and a good local house white wine. The service is very good, although they did tend to take a while to come back to the table after we had ordered drinks for our meal orders.

Approximate cost: $20
