My 88yo mother went into this store and ordered Vinyl flooring for the Kitchen and laundry area. He came out and measured the area with a laser light. She paid the $500.00 deposit. He then told her that she would have to pay balance before the job commenced, which she did, as he said he would have to cut Vinyl prior to job being started.
The fitters came out to do the job and I have to say that I could have done better myself, some bits of vinyl not flush against the wall. I mentioned this to them so they put bright white silicone in the laundry area (only on one side - not around the washing machine) which stands out like a sore thumb, they said the colour would die down (it did not)
They were very messy and did not take their rubbish, half of it thrown in the recycling bin (inc. bucket with bits of cement in it) and bits of cement thrown in the garden which took my 88yo mother one hour to clean up and clean the driveway of engine oil that dripped from their van. (Had I known she was cleaning up I would of helped her)
The owner measured 3.1metres but only ordered 3metres so we have an inch long gap at the end of the kitchen where a small strip of vinyl has been inserted. After they left I called the owner of the shop and he apologised, charming as ever and said he would send the fitters out again to clear rubbish and put a more matching silicone over the white, and silicone around the kitchen. The fitter was not happy when he came as he said not his responsibility to take the rubbish, he did under duress. I mentioned the white silicone had not faded and he ignored me and told me to go away and let him do his job.
He was so charming to my mother but she heard him speak to me rudely from behind a closed door. I called the owner and he was apologetic again and said he would come around to inspect and bring me a present to compensate for what we had been through. Have not heard from him since.
It took two men 5 hours to complete two small areas, and our freezer food was left out for 4 hours defrosting.
The most amateur job I have ever seen.
