Shark Fin is a lovely Chinese restaurant in the Melbourne CBD, the constant busyness of customers is testament to its quality. This is not the best Chinese food I have ever had, but it was enjoyable and I would eat here again. They would benefit from some more service staff, but overall a satisfactory experience.

Service is bad. When you come in they let you sit and wait for ages before someone finally come over to give you the menu and then leave you there for another 15 minutes. You have to wait at least half an hour to get your order. they are just too busy and not enough staff.

Yum Cha is really good. The quality is better than other yum cha place. But there is not enough space between one table and another that the noise is too loud and you will be sitting near the traffic.

Came here last Sunday for my birthday yum cha with friends. It was so crowded before the doors opened at 11am for the first session. We booked a table for 4 so we were seated downstairs at at corner. However the trolleys were rather slow and we have to keep ordering otherwise nothing will turn up on our table. I suppose it's the weekend so it's packed with people. We didn't eat much but it costs us nearly $20.90 per head - we didn't even order any dessert or prawn rice roll.
But the grilled calamari was good, not oily and no batter.

Approximate cost: $21

We ordered a la carte. The schezuan beef was one of the best I've had. Staff were very friendly and the meals came out quickly. Would definitely go again.

Food comes really fast but the staffs tend to clean up your table too quick and sometimes clean up your plate although you still have food.
if you want something quick, enjoy the food, not too fuss about the courtesy of teh staffs, this place is good enough.

I consider this to be one of the best chinese restaurants in Melbourne for yum cha. They have a huge variety and it is really tasty. You have to book for yum cha on Sundays - they have two seatings because it is so popular.

One of the best and popular Yum cha establishment in the City. Love all the dishes especially the beef tendon and Hor fun. Have also had dinner here before and I must say, the shark finn soup here are delicious. Also love the abalone stir fried with greens.

The food is quite nice here but it is aways crowded. We came here for a group lunch and everyone was squashed onto the table. The prices are quite high and the service is a little incomcistent.
