Decent Shanghainese food, wasn’t outstanding nor poor. Prices were quite reasonable and portions were generous.

Been to this restaurant more than 10 times for lunch.
Never been once shown the lunch time menu by the staff until you asked !
The place is clean and comfortable. The service is standard. The regular staff are ok. The Shanghainese foods are as good and genuine as can be in Melbourne without a high price tags. The stirred fried dishes just OK.

Last month on Monday went for lunch. I ordered Pork chops with spicy hard boiled egg with rice. The serious faced new waitress said no egg except FRIED EGG. It took 20 minutes + to arrive without the egg. When asked, she came back with a fried egg 5 minutes later. It was covered with completely with the black wok dusts (unwashed wok for frying the egg!) on the whole egg , so bad .
Asked the waitress who did not bother to explain or offered replacement, or bothered to mention to the manager.
What a chef ! He must be in a bad mood as I believed he has to prepared the pork fresh and that was why took so long. So gave a egg full of black wok dirts.

Doubtful be there again.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, with friends, after reading some good reviews. It was very quiet so the service was very quick and the food was tasty although the sweet'n'sour pork had a lot of bones in it which was off-putting, as did the crispy skin chicken. I had the sizzling diced beef eye fillet which was amazing, as were the shangai special noodles! The bill for 6 people came to $165 (inc alcohol) which I think was very good value. I would probably not go again and take the opportunity to sample some other chinese restaurants in the area.

Approximate cost: $20

Friday night. Little bit of parking behind the restaurant, plenty along Whitehorse Rd or Station St.Cosy atmosphere, comfortable setting, music in the background. Attentive wait staff are poised and helpful. Menu is traditional - not Cantonese but delicious. Still do the carving of the duck at the table plus, as I found out - they also carve the pork hock (which I'm having next time).
Prices are great, not expensive. Food delicious, what you can't eat you can take away. Licenced or BYO wine. Great night. I do recommend.

Approximate cost: $70 for 2
