We just moved to Mernda a couple of months ago and decided to order takeout. My god, the food was amazing! We ordered hamburgers, fish, potatoe cakes and dim sims! Awesome! Fresh, tasty and not oily ! Winners. 10/10! Definitely our go to takeaway and I will add we are really fussy! Congratulations guys, awesome food and awesome service! Thank you.

potatoe cakes are way too thick & the batter is undercooked :(
Chips are average .. ok if you’re starving ..

Good tasting fish and chips, but be prepared to empty that wallet. I can't remeber exactly how much I paid, but for just me, I didn't get a lot of change from a $20. It costs a lot more than your average fish and chippery. Again, I re-iterate, the food is good though.

When we moved to Mernda we came here to get some fish and chips and we where totally suprised at the prices of everything for a extra large chips it was $9.50 when really it was probably like $4.00 of chips anywhere else. Even the dim sims where $0.30 more expensive compared to anywhere else. The food was nice but not worth the ridiculous prices.

Approximate cost: $60.00

We ordered take out from Sgt Bakers - the total came to $75 for 4 persons for fish and chips, a couple of scallops and one burger. While the portions of fish and chips were large, they were over salted and very average tasting. The burger was a fair size and quite pleasant - though not worth the price given there are other establishments in the area that serve similar products for much more reasonable prices. The scallops were the biggest disappointment- there was at least a cm of batter covering the scallop and it was not very tasty. Overall, disappointing - the local hotels and pubs serve burgers and fish and chips at much better prices for higher quality products.

Approximate cost: $15

Thats expensive for fish and chips!! Surely you pay that much for other establishments which are more boutique fish and chip places in other parts of Melbourne! Gosh I am very surprised, thanks for sharing

They're ok. I find that they use way to much salt and I think they're too oily. Expensive flake & minimum chips compared to elsewhere. I do like they're batter though nice and crispy

can you indicate the price for fish and chips?

From memory maz, was I think $6 for flake, which is fine but more expensive than other places. But for the minimum chips equivalent it was more than $6 I thought they were joking!

These are the best tasting fish and chips I've had in a very long time - always crispy and never to oily. They have 2 different size potato cakes, and a range of gourmet burgers. Only downside is, they're a lot more expensive than other fish and chip shops in the area.
