I took my wife here for a night off from the kids. We got here and were greeted from the friendly staff. The rooms were very spacious and modern. We had Buffett breakfast included in our stay and also in house massages. It was a great night off from the kids .

We love this hotel. It is in a great location and is spectacular during fireworks on the river. Make sure you get a balcony room overlooking the city - nice spot to sip champagne and enjoy the view. Restaurant is okay - better for breakfast than dinner.

this would have to be the best hotel in south brisbane and is close to the markets on the weekend and the night life of south brisbane, they have competitive rates and great meals and the bar staff are so friendly. the receptionist was so helpfull and very curtious at the job she did it is not what you call the top notch hotel but your stay is worth while

I stayed here for 2 days prior to Christmas. Lots of "hits", a few "misses" but nothing that would deter me from returning. The room was fine and clean. The shower was a bit strange. A handheld contraption in a wall bracket. I couldn't get the thing to point in the right direction at all! The wagyu burger and fries I ordered via room service were sublime. Reception staff: the young lady was delightful, couldn't be more helpful. The young chap was a little bit "snooty" and not so accommodating so I henceforth avoided him. The bar staff were great, the bar atmosphere was very "humming" and it's great the way it spills out to the pavement. The concierge was worthy of a position in London's top hotel. He didn't have to be told I was getting edgy as my transport had not arrived. He detected my body language and straight away made phone calls and got things sorted (and I was hardly a VIP guest!). Word to the wise: if you want to use the pool like I did in the evening, you can't because it has to be supervised by staff. I liked the place. It's not top-notch but it has flair.

We booked here for one night as we were attending a show at QPAC and didn't want to drive home late at night. We booked a queen room which consisted of a queen size bed, tv, tea and coffee making facilities and a separate bath and shower.
The room was very clean and tidy and central to everything. Loved having the South Bank just on our doorstep too.
Breakfast was buffet style and the staff were quite happy to get me two poached eggs from the kitchen's and gluten free bread.
They hotel also boasts of a gym, spa and sauna but we didn't use these facilities this time.
Valet parking was provided for $35 per day which we thought was responsible especially for how much parking costs you in Brisbane.
We are also Priority Quest members and with our rewards we get 20% off our food and drinks bills and use your points towards free stays. It also gives you 50% of internet access in your room but its still comes out expensive at $20 a day.
If your seeing a show at Qpac I would definitely recommend staying here for convenience.

We went to Rydges Southbank for a wedding in January this year. Although the ceremony and reception area was fun and had good service, we stayed the night and they didnt put the portacot in the room like we asked and it took 4 times to get them to bring it up. We were running up and down and because they wouldnt answer the phones. We also found a dirty nappy under our bed so the housekeeping wasnt done properly. I was diappointed but when we talked to the manager about it they were very apologetic and in the end we were offered half price stay the next time we were there which was ok.

I've always found the staff here to be the friendliest I've encountered in hotels. Nothing is too much trouble and they're always happy to help. The rooms are clean and comfortable, bathrooms could use an upgrade at some point. The only downside would be the parking/drop off area. It's ridiculously busy, but the concierges/valets seem to manage remarkably well

The Rydges South Bank is a comfortable, well located hotel at South Bank. Just cross the road and your in the Parklands and another 10 min walk and you are in the heart of Brisbane city. The bed was really comfortable and the rooms a good size. Try to get a room that faces the river as it is really pretty at night. Good friendly staff and happy atmosphere.
