I had not visited this cinemas in a while, I must say I was shocked today, cinemas and toilets are quite dirty, front foyer not clean and the cinema is really lacking TLC.

Thankfully tickets are $11.50 on Tuesdays, popcorn was fresh and service was friendly.

I go the movies on a regular basis with the majority of time at Reading Cinemas at Auburn. Compared to other cinema complexes I find the screens at Readings are bigger, the seats are all well placed in position to the screen and basically the overall experience is much better. On the other side, the toilet area is much to be desired and probably needs a little more attention than what they are getting. They should probably also check their seats in the cinema on a regular basis as most of the time we find at least 2 or 3 seats broken. On the upside, if you go during the weekday you will find no queues and you more or less have the cinema to yourself most times, so no-one sitting on top of you or eating and slurping in your ear :) You will also find the staff a little more relaxed and friendly during the weekday as they are not as stressed with the queues on a weekend and the prices are cheaper as well during the weekday. And if you join the Reading Reel Club, you can accumulate points for every dollar you spend which can be redeemed for free drinks, popcorn, movie discounts and if you get enough points even a free movie. Unfortunately the complex is not located near a train station, so you would need to drive or catch a bus. But would definitely recommend a visit to Reading Cinemas especially during the weekday to avoid the queues.
