This is a great bookstore with a soul. They are happy to give recommendations, order specific titles (and covers) in and also have a really good loyalty program. The owner (I think her name is Mary) also organises events with authors and the Georges building is a lovely spot for these. Great customer service and a great selection.

This business used to be on Swanston Street (or, to be more precise, under it) however it has moved to new digs and its definitely a positive move. Its light, bright, there's plenty of room and the layout has definitely improved. Excellent selection of books and standard bookstore prices.

This is a great bookstore which has a very wide variety to choose from. If you can't find something at Borders, try here and you might just find it! I am disappointed to say that the staff did not introduce me to the loyalty program, as I would most definitely have joined.

This business has moved! They've gone to 162 Collins Street (above the Longroom). There's also an entry via 195 Little Collins Street.

Readers Feast is a fantastic store for those hard to please readers, they have everything you can imagine and the staff go out of their way to find everything you want. I am a sucker for a loyalty scheme, which they have and keeps me going back regularly.

Approximate cost: $100

This bookshop has am amazing stock and very helpful staff. There are also chairs so you can really look carefully at a book before deciding to buy and you are very welcom to sit reading as long as you like.

Readers Feast has a very wide range of books and very helpful staff members. They also conduct a points system that gives customers a personal reference card and points are awarded according to the value of purchases. Credit vouchers are issued by mail according to the number of points awarded during the period and these vouchers can be used toward future purchase costs.
