Excellent service and so willing to help and share knowledge.
As a descendant of Ann Duke who helped to sew the Eureka Flag and whose family shares 2 pages in this book I desperately wanted a copy for the family and had almost given up but I found a brand new copy of "The Eureka Encyclopaedia " -2004 in this shop. Hallejuah!
Thank you so much! Lesley

SIX Stars. Put this on the list of the 10 Bookshops you must visit before your eyesight goes.

This wonderful shop is located along the main tourist road in Echuca which leads to the wharf and is lined with other interesting shops. It's in an old building with beautiful window front, mellow wooden floors and a smell you just can't duplicate.

The walls are lined floor to ceiling with bookcases and others are well placed within the room at a slight diagonal angle so that you can browse with comfort and still be surrounded by a world of books.

We came in here very late on Sunday, delighted to find it still open. Everywhere on shelves and walls and floor you will find an amazing collection of dog memorabilia. It's not for sale. The owner, David Engstrom has added this quirky passion to his shop and it just works so well. Dog statues and plaques peep out at you from all angles as you peruse the shelves.

The books are mainly second hand but wonderful condition and it's as if they are his own personal collection and we're privileged to look and ...shock ... buy them.

From novels to sci-fi, comics, Australiana, children's books, reference books - all the books you could want. And as a bonus some of them are desirably collectable as well.

We were able to use David's extensive knowledge to get some very hard-to-find books which made our day. He also makes a point of keeping series together where possible. Most books are in the $4 - $10 range. Some are less. The antique and collectable are more of course, but the ones we bought were an absolute bargain compared to rare bookshops of the more exclusive kind.

I wish this place were closer to us. A rare find for a book collector, a weekend reader ... just anybody.

They are open 7 days a week and will also buy books.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Approximate cost: $80 for 9 books
