I lived in Bundoora and loved going here. Their meat deli is delicious( although can be a wait as its that good it gets packed out-ticket system works well and you can shop while you wait for your number), they have a lovely medium selection of yummy cheese, fruit, veg and many continental products and a huge range of different pastas.
I moved to Bairnsdale (3hrs) away and always take my esky to fill with delicious stuff and clear the olive rack out too.
Definitely worth it. Great shop!
I have to bulk buy now.

Great variety of continental food. Their cold meat is so fresh and last longer in the fridge than buying it from your local supermarket. Staff are always friendly. However because it is always busy be prepared to wait awhile. There is a ticketing service system so you don't lose your turn.

There is a good assortment of continential products.

Whilst I have shopped there on many occassions over the years, if I needed something in particular and I was nearby, I must admit that I have other preferred continential stores where I attend to do a bulk shop of my favourite pastas, sauces etc.

I have been shopping at Psarakos since shortly after we moved to Springthorpe 3-1/2 years ago. The produce is amazing - fabulous quality and great selection at some of the lowest prices I have seen anywhere. The dry/canned goods section is small but interesting. They carry obscure things like Wild Rice from the US and a decent selection of gluten free pasta and other such products. The deli is a little bit limited (e.g. cheese selection), but of very good quality. As already mentioned, the adjoining bottle shop is very convenient, and the prices are competitive at the least. I shop here every week!

Psarakos Market is a little treasure in the heart of Bundoora. The deli, in particular, is fantastic. The girls are friendly and make a point of remembering just how I like my meats and cheeses sliced. They have an extensive fruit n veg department as well as general grocery items. Their liquor store is a one stop shop too....local and imported beers and spirits are readily available at very reasonable prices. Mind the trolleys though, some of them need more than a little tlc. I lived in this area for years before I finally decided to give Psarakos a try. Waiting so long to try it was my loss. Psarakos is indeed a local treasure.

When my groceries and veggie shopping manages to get under $20, well I am amazed. And that is how it is at Psarakos :)
They had fresh Danish blue cheese, which I can't find at either coles or safeway and the vegetables are all veggie shop prices.. super duper cheap.

Approximate cost: $20
