Hi, I am writing here to draw everyone’s attention to the substandard workmanship done by Platinum Landscaping. I have a 30sqm back yard which now is totally paved with planter boxes.
I engaged Platinum Landscaping to make over my back yard. A big mistake now as it turns out.
What went wrong:
1. I asked that the paving slope away from the house towards the planter boxes. It does everything but that. It pools in places where the pavers have sunk and cracked. It never drained away from the start because it doesn’t have anywhere to go.
2. Now, I am not a specialist in back yard renovations, but as I have learnt the hard way, there should have been some sort of drain implemented in the design to take away wash down water and rain as the paving was supposed to run away from my unit. But the big question is “TO WHERE”. If they are professionals, as they state on their website, then something like a drain would have made sense. This is why we pay them to enlighten the customer to what is needed.
3. I asked that the 3 diamond patterns in the paving would all be in line. As you can see by the pictures, they are not. They did their own thing. He gave me some lame excuse about remodelling my pergola to suit. WTF. I have an email stating what I wanted and a response from them stating that they understood what I wanted.
4. The cracked planter box with the light on the front of it has cracked because the foundations that the boxes were built on was not satisfactory. It has fallen away on one side and it has a crack at the front and back of the box. Their response was, it is over 12 months so ring Jim’s maintenance and see if he can fix it. What a joke.
5. The other cracked planter boxes are split and cracked because what I believe is due to the plants that were planted in them, they are too big for the boxes. Another poor decision by Platinum Landscaping.
This has been a disaster from the start, the time it took them to do the job, probably because they take on so much and treat everyone like an idiot. I spent a lot of money with them, probably around $30,000 and now I have ended up with a nightmare. I have to pull out all the plants, remove the soil, break up the blocks and dispose of them and start again because of a company who does not really know what they are doing.
