Firstly, in my opinion, the costs are excessive in comparison to other solicitors of an equivalent quality and standard of legal work, especially the clerical and basic administrative duties which are in most cases included as part of general operating costs of such a legal service. The charges are as follows: Solicitor: $300 per hour + GST $30 per hour Clerical: $150 per hour + GST $15 per hour Photocopying: $1.80 per page Facsimiles: - Inward 1st Page is $10, and thereafter $1.80 per page - Outward 1st Page is $10, and thereafter is $3.40 per page E-mail: 1st Page is $10, and thereafter is $1.80 per page (Amazingly, the above E-mail fees have not been categorised into "Inward" and "Outward") If you find these charges acceptable, then by all means seek legal information from the firm. Otherwise, do keep seeking for a more reasonable service which would most likely be a stone throw away. Secondly, every word spoken on the phone will be charged for in addition to a summary/follow up documentation delivered via mail. These letters do not always provide new information however charges will still be carried through even though the legal advice is repeated.
