Despite the difficulty getting a table (never a bad sign) we love Percy and Percy. The food is almost always lovely (and we are excellent cooks at home so very fussy) and the drinks are excellent. Every little disappointment in my teenage daughter’s world is immediately remedied with a “Percy Chai please Mum” hahaha.
Staff have been lovely and friendly very consistently over the past couple of years. Art for sale on the walls is divine and I can even buy a wee foodie gift from the gift shelves if I want.

I remember when Percy and Percy first opened the food was great, 6 months later it was still great. Six months ago we had lunch there are were really disappointed with the quality, I mean really disappointed. I thought maybe it was just the particular dishes we ordered on the particular day, you make excuses to yourself when you don't want to lose something (like good food). Went again about two months ago on a Sunday, it was reasonably busy which gave me confidence, but once again the food was really disappointing in both quality and taste. A bit of success, a stable clientele and sure enough the quality starts to go down, it just doesn't make business sense. I'd forgotten about all this until today when my partner dropped off a takeaway lunch. Later in the afternoon she rang me to ask if I enjoyed it. Being the brutally honest person I am I said it was crap, dry cheap tortellini probably the $1.50 packets I saw at Aldi (do not order the tortellini salad). I asked how her lunch was which prompted a similar response. I then asked where she bought the lunches and sure enough in was P&P. My previously two expeeinces can flooding back. Its 3 strikes and your out with me, I swear I will never waste a single cent in Percy & Percy again. Unless it changes hands or something like that, so then at least you know you have about a 6 month period of reasonable food. Both Percy's would roll in their graves!

My son canned this business.....said staff were gorgeous but seriously up themselves. Thought I'd try it myself and was happy to discover that we'd taught our son some discerning skills. I ordered 2 latte's and 2 savory muffins - to take away. I was told the muffins were 'just out of the oven'. When I asked if the muffins could be buttered, the troll who served me said that she would put some butter in the bag. I replied that I don't have a knife and wondered whether they may be able to be buttered for me - she scowled and told me that she would also put a knife in the bag. The end result was that when I returned to my car the 'just out of the oven' muffins were actually stone cold (very tasty though). Really poor first impression as the place has great potential.

Approximate cost: $16

Cute cafe with vintage decor and a relaxed feel. Seating both indoors and outdoors. Loved the sound of the breakfast menu which has some interesting choices. We had the Baked Egg ($16.50) with baked beans, chorizo & saffron gnocchi and their version of a big breakfast ($21). The highlight was the big super crunchy hash brown. The portions were good but it was a bit of a let down that none of the eggs were runny and the flavour was a little lacking. The coffee is nice, which you can have in a mug for $4.50. Service was quick and efficient but not particularly friendly.

Percy and Percy has been around for a few months now but I only just dropped in the other day for a cuppa and something to eat. I was pleasantly suprised to find that the coffee they serve is from Coffee Basics in Castlemaine (a favourite of mine!).

They had a few salads available on the menu which looked good, my partner actually had the quinoa one and enjoyed it.

The atmosphere is light, bright and spacious but also relaxed and friendly. They were busy when I went there with a lot of the tables filled, however we were able to get a seat and order our coffees and food rather quickly.

The tiny teddy biscuit in the coffee was a cute touch!
