I took my laptop to Pentagon Digital after a terrible experience with another Apple service provider. Pentagon Digital was great - the process was quick and easy. I chose to pay for an express service, and my laptop was ready for pick up the next day. Great service. Highly recommended.

Really helpful, knowledgeable, and genuine with information. Spoke with Ehsan over the phone and brought my MacBook Pro in and had my matter resolved quickly and professionally. Thanks again pentagon digital and special mention to Ehsan.

Pentagon replaced the battery in my MacBook air in Apr 20 for the price advertised on the Apple website. Very happy with the service.
I went back with my daughter's MacBook air in Jul 20 for a battery replacement. This time they quoted me $90 over the Apple recommended price.
When I queried the price I was told that the first MacBook was a 2013 model whereas the second was a 2015 model. (I have been unable to find anywhere where there is any difference in pricing for these models)
I would recommend steering clear of Pentagon and going to the Apple store or find a authorised repairer that is committed to the quoted Apple pricing.
Disappointing as I thought I had found a small local business that i could support and recommend to others.

They immediately knew what the problem was and liased with apple to get our laptop problem solved. Great job. So much less stress than going direct to apple:)

Imagine expecting and authorised dealer to share the price that Apple quote on their website.
Imagine calling them to book on the phone and then after driving 40 minutes they tell me their special price is $40 above the Authorised Apple price (apparently this is cover labour). Apple must have a magic machine, or perhaps Oompa Loompas, to replace the screens at their labour free store). ... This also assumes that an Apple dealer pay amount same price for parts as regular consumers at their store (I hardly think so)
Imagine a store attendant that would rather sneer at you about their difference between an Authorised Apple Dealer and a proper Apple Store and just skulk back into the back office to plan his Friday night swiping right on his phone rather than fixing your daughters screen.
Imagine ever wanting to purchase recommend recommend of use Paramount Digital again... I cant !
Its time Apple took some accountability for their Authorised Dealers performance

It was extremely nice of them to give me another chance since I had a medical certificate from my doctor explaining about what happened last time I was there.

Very happy with the experience at Pentagon Digital. Apple store was just impossible to get a booking at, but at Pentagon digital I called up and they said to just bring it in for repair. Dropped off saturday, picked up tuesday. No hassles, friendly staff (thanks Neel) and a fast quality repair. And I didn't have to fight to the death to get an appointment at doncaster either! Definitely recommended.

These guys have been extremely helpful to me and I am grateful for that but I did have a few problems but it is all sorted out now so I am extremely happy with that so I would highly recommend them.

My MacBook Pro had a video card issue. Emailed Pentagon for a quote on replacing the video card as the laptop was out of warranty. Got a call to say bring it in as they may be able to get Apple to repair it for free. I took it in and they told me they'll call to let me know when it was ready. Two days later I rang to see what the status was. They said they're still working on it. I asked if they had even turned on the computer - turns out they hadn't. They had sat on the laptop for two whole days; no diagnostics, no checking, nothing. I asked for an ETA; and he said they'll look at it when they look at it and that I would have to wait. The guy then actually whined to me about the fact they were too busy too look at it. I said I had to run a business and it wasn't my problem they were busy. I was understanding but after two days without my laptop, my work commitments were faltering. It was crucial I get my laptop back. The guy couldn't have cared less. They had no concept that people outside their shop are just as busy as what they were (although you wouldn't know this when you go into the shop and see how relaxed and slow to respond the staff were.) I went in and took my laptop away.

I went to another repairer who ran diagnostics on my laptop within a few minutes of my entering the shop. It was a video card issue. They ordered the replacement part then and there, and would txt me when it arrived.

Why couldn't Pentagon have done this? I love the Apple product but the service and communication from Pentagon staff was terrible. I refuse to ever go back to them again. When they charge over $260 for the first hour you know it's a rip off. Go to Apple @ Doncaster or StudyTech, their prices are a lot more reasonable and they provide a first class service.

For a start, let's set things straight - we don't charge $260 per hour, it was $150 per hour, so there is some misunderstanding here. When people just drop in, we offer a turn-around of 3 to 5 working days. If an appointment is made, we will run an MRI diagnostic check on the spot and provide an exact quote or estimate if the analysis cannot be confirmed until the Mac has been dismantled for further tests. We will then contact the client to provide the exact cost before proceeding further. In this particular case, it seems the client did not wish to proceed because of cost.

Despite being an Apple Authorised Service Provider, they were no help at all.

Went to them with an iPhone 5S that whose screen was not responding to touch and they said that they would have to send it to Sydney but that the Apple Store in Doncaster *might* be able to do it onsite.

I pointed out that, if the Doncaster Apple store *couldn't* do it, I'd have to send it to Sydney anyway so could they investigate further and confirm it so I could send it to Sydney through them rather than the Doncaster store if that turned out to be necessary.

However, they wouldn't contact the Apple Store in Doncaster to confirm their ability to do onsite repairs, they wouldn't investigate my iPhone further to confirm what the issue was, and told me to ring Apple Support to do my research.

Staff flatly told me that they wouldn't get paid unless they did send it to Sydney so it wasn't worth their time to do any of the above investigation. He was willing to let me use their phone to call Apple Support however.

To sum up - they were only willing to act as a drop off and collection point for Apple Support in Sydney and weren't willing to do even the smallest amount of investigation to see if that was an appropriate solution. Staff didn't even hold the door open for me as I tried to navigate their front door and a step with a heavily laden stroller.

I am actually in the market for the new iWatch, a replacement iPad mini, a new iPhone 6, and an upgrade to my current apple desktop system. As such, they could have genuinely sold me quite a lot of products if they were willing to expend a small effort even if they wouldn't get paid for the actual repair of my current iPhone. However, after this experience I would never, *ever* buy anything from them. EVER.

A classic example of short term thinking on the issue of customer service.

Apple is quite clear about their iPhone repair policy. The Apple USA stores at Chadstone, Doncaster, Moorabbin etc can repair iPhones on the spot or exchange them for a replacement iPhone. Pentagon its an "Apple Australia" reseller, so try to explain this to clients as our "hands are tied" to send the iPhone back to Apple for repair or replacement except for battery and camera replacement which an Apple reseller is able to expedite. This Apple policy arose because of fraudulent Apple "look-alike" parts in the marketplace where such parts were being swapped out for good ones by resellers. However, Pentagon does understand this is very frustrating for customers, but there is nothing that can be done at this point in time.

Rather than complaining that you as a reseller were unable to repair my iPhone onsite, my complaint was that your staff were unwilling to check if I would have been better off with the Apple Store in Doncaster or in your shop.

Doing some in house diagnosis to figure it out or calling the Apple Store in Doncaster to figure out if their capabilities would cover the suspected problem would have both been well within your wheelhouse.

As you say, your hands were tied to the point of being unable to 'repair iPhones on the spot or exchange them for a replacement iPhone'. However, they were not tied up to the point where your staff couldn't have picked up the phone to call the Apple store in Doncaster and figure if they could help.

As it was, and I quote my original review, the 'staff flatly told me that they wouldn't get paid unless they did send it to Sydney so it wasn't worth their time to do any of the above investigation.'

Finally, I direct you to the summary of my complaint listed in my original review:

"To sum up - they were only willing to act as a drop off and collection point for Apple Support in Sydney and weren't willing to do even the smallest amount of investigation to see if that was an appropriate solution. Staff didn't even hold the door open for me as I tried to navigate their front door and a step with a heavily laden stroller."

I don't call that good customer service.
