Cheap and cheerful.
As you walk into Pappa Rich you can see the guy in the kitchen making fresh delicious fluffy Roti. The Roti here is a real standout, I cannot come here without ordering it. It comes with a selection of dipping sauces and the Roti is sprinkled with sugar. I order mine without sugar as I prefer it this way.
Their Char Kuey Teow is also delicious. Noodles are cooked perfectly with the right amount of prawns and fish cake.
If you're feeling thirsty I'd recommend the Mango Mania. A mango crush drink with lychees and coco de nata. Great especially on a hot summers day.
Consistency is the key here. The quality of the dishes never change and it's great value for money.

Come here quite often when I feel like their dry noodles with steamed chicken or one of their chicken laksa. I would not recommend coming here if you're in for a quick meal, orders usually take around 10-15 minutes to reach the table after ordering. The service is satisfactory, some staff members are pretty thorough whilst others are not. There have been a few times where I have had to ask for water multiple times before I received it.

Something I do like is their ordering system. No one is there pressuring you to be ready to order and you give them order when you're ready.

Wouldn't recommend it if you have a weak stomach! We visited this restaurant in Glen Waverely, QV, Nunawading and Chadstone and it is sad to say 9 out of the 10 times their satay chicken is not well cooked. Some of the meat inside the skewer is undercooked. We found the same in the oriental chicken chop. They explained that this is normal because the chicken will become very dry if overcooked. I think it is not fair if I only tried once and leave a bad comment. I have tried a few times in different location and the last time my son had an upset tummy after dinner. So I think it's time to say we will not going back whatsoever!

This little Malaysian delight is fantastic. The food is a great mix of Asian/Indian cuisine. The prices are fantastic and they have an amazing selection of breads. The service is unbeatable with a very streamlined system for ordering.

This restaurant actually provide malaysian food. I know this place because my friend invited me to eat there. Actually it was first time i eaten there. My first impression about this restaurant is no bad. When i see this restaurant always busy , so i think the food in there was delicious. There are many menus that the restaurant provide , for example: roti/canai+curry, noodle, desert, nasi lemak, noodle, etc. Beside that , the restaurant provide many variety drink you can try. When i came to there , i only choose the menu of noodle. actually the taste is no bad. but the menu is not make me feel something different than other restaurant. the service of the restaurant is fast , so it can make better customer satisfaction.

most of my friends talk about this place but i didn't see what the huge deal was, i think it's because it's a really authentic malaysian restaurant

have never had malaysian food before i did like the crunchy crackers and the flavours were really strong (in a good way) i didn't like the fact that there were random bits and bobs in the rice

decent priced, different & more efficient type of service, overall not bad, but wouldn't be a regular

The roti was nice. The laksa wasn't great. The noodles were okay. Fairly average place, really. The novelty of the open roti cooking kitchen and the ordering system (write the order on a pad of paper, and press the call staff button for attention) were the main pluses.

Finally, i get to go to this restaurant.. this restaurant is always busy - crowded all the time! I ordered a snack - deep fried chicken skin with sweet chilli on the side, roti boom with sugar and condensed milk on the side and ice milk tea.. The food and drink were really good.. love it! the service was good.. friendly staff! definitely would go back to this restaurant again sometime soon.

This shop is at where Old Town kopitiam used to be, not sure if somehow this shop is related to old town. The foods are pretty similar. The roti canai is pretty good but not extra ordinary. I also had nasi lemak special. The curry chicken was nice and tender but the sambal i not spicy enough for my liking. My fave though is the deep fried chicken skin at $3.90. It's crispy and so tasty.

Approximate cost: $11.50
