Overrated and poor value for money. Our coffees were luke-warm and tasted like milk. Took ages to come out and then they had to be remade!

Worst coffee ever it was like water, maybe I was up too early for them!! Bad experience all round, stood waiting no one talked to me! Wont be back!! $4 for a small daylight robbery!!

I would agree that the food is not the centre of attention at Pantry. The place does feel somewhat more like a boutique or food providore. However, that is not to say that it can't be a nice place to go for a drink and a bite, in pleasant surrounds. The food whilst not groundbreaking in style, execution or presentation, is reliable if nothing else.

Very 'Brighton'! Overrated and over-priced. Very much a place people go to sit and be seen.
Food is average, coffee is good. There are better options to eat and I would go to Florentine across the road instead.

Went to the Pantry for ready to eat takeaway meals. Gosh what a selection of food. Hot meals, soups and salads. The smell of the crumbles next to the cash register made me want to pick one up. Bought a sticky date cake and it was really good. Service is also great. Get prepared to be overwhelmed by choice.

Amazing service, high quality food and at a reasonable price too. I really like the lamb and vegie soup. The lattes and hot chocolate is a must. Service is top notch very prompt and friendly. Defiantly go here if ever your in Brighton

Quite nice interior and mood, though it gets so busy and crowded. Food is nice, but portion size is tiny! Would love a bit more considering price which I find a little steep, but I suppose it's 'Brighton'. Anyway service could be a little improved too.

Never feel that you can get a crap meal. Always buzzing and the food is fab. Friendly staff and the store next door makes it even a better experience.

Had brunch with a friend here. The decor is smart, but it was very noisy, and I think the waiter mis-heard me ordering bacon to go with my eggs. When the dish came out and I alerted him to the missing bacon, he just walked away. He emerged sometime later (when I'd almost finished eating my eggs and toast) with a plate of bacon! No apologies, no attempt to compensate for the error. The food here is very nice, but over-priced, and staff are just a little too aloof and cool.

I find the quality of food to be extremely high and the service is always fantastic. The menu is progessive and the specials are always inviting.

Agree with the others that it is expensive (although I only go there through work and don't have to pay :p) but the popularity of the place justifies it. Also because of the popularity it can be a bit noisy when it's busy but not enough to disturb conversation.

Not sure why people are complaining about the traffic, it makes no difference to the dining experience and is no worse than any commercial shopping strip.

Approximate cost: $25
