Decided on a mid-week dine out yesterday so decided to go nearby to Paddy Maquire's. Have been here a couple of time for a quick drink and the ambience is mostly casual, like a local pub. There's also live music each night from about 8pm, if I'm not mistaken. We ordered a bangers and mash, and a steak and guiness pie. The bangers and mash had 2 large sausages, and a generous helping of mash, some peas and onion gravy ($21). Very flavoursome and filling. The steak and guiness pie ($23)was also really robust in flavour, with a zing to it, served with chips and some steamed veg. Overall, can't complain as its fair pub food.

Approximate cost: $22

We go to Paddy's for dinner on a Monday and combine it with the quiz nights (and have won some good prizes and free food/ drinks). The food is pretty typical pub fare but the meals have always been nice and I think are good value compared to many pubs around.

Approximate cost: $20

This is the typical Aussie version of an Irish pub, serving typical pub meals. The service is bar-service, the staff were friendly, and the food arrives promptly. The meals are standard pub fare with average quality and below average presentation.

You can watch footy on their TVs dotted around the place. Good food with large portions. Self service for drinks but the food is brought out to you.

Approximate cost: $20
