Last week , i tried in the restaurant for first time. Because i listen from my friend this restaurant provide delicious roast duck. And when i tried roast duck with noodle soup. truly the duck is very nice but the taste of noodle is bland. i think the price of menu is little expensive but i think it is worthy because the good quality of duck. Moreover , the service in there is fine, i dont have problem with that.

I've read all the previous reports and I have to agree whole heartedly. The food is really good and very well priced. $20 for two meals. But the staff leave a lot to be desired. When we walked in the waitress just pointed to the table and then plopped down two teas which were luke warm. When we wanted to be served I had to put my hand up and catch the waitresses eye. There were three waitresses all standing down the back looking outside with glazed looks in their eyes doing nothing..... As I said the food is very good but the word will slowly get around as to the really bad service. Its OK to have this sort of service in Asia but not in Melbourne.

My one stop for a quick delicious roast duck on rice. One of best roast duck in Melbourne. The crispy skin pork is pretty good too.

Crispy Porkchop On rice! What I like about this restaurant is just the food. The service was bad really! the staff were very rude (I asked for more tea - they just walked off, then drop the tea as in the tea was spilled out from the cup) and once you finished your food they will drop off your bill, then walked off). Very bad experience.

Approximate cost: $10-13

There is no place (or excuse) for such shameful service!

The roast duck here is one of the best in the Melbourne CBD. Really meaty and flavoursome. If you're after a quick and easy meal that doesn't cost you a lot then this place is ideal. If you're after a place where you can relax and have a chat then this is not for you as they will usher you out of the place as soon as you have finished your meal.

While the food sounds reasonable, we would likely avoid such an establishment based on the lacking customer service. Ushering people out is not a respectful manner in which to conduct business. Reeces

The food was GREAT with good value but the service from the 'Boss' i think was BAD. I went there with my family carrying a baby and friends and they usher us to the last and narrow table that cant hardly breathe while carrying the baby. We changed to the table beside us and the 'Boss' push our stroller in the center of us and said that they need the walkway. 'Hello?' The restaurant wasnt pack full of people and they need not be so conscious of the space. Right after we finish he usher us out (still got many empty tables left) cant eat in peace...this is the most horrible service I experienced from a chinese restaurant. Not FAMILY friendly and ONLY THINK OF BUSSINESS!!

When it comes to Chinese restaurants, most people have their given favourite. It's quite likely, that many people will associate the "Pacific" chain of restaurants as being one of the best value Chinese food places around - with branches in South Yarra and Richmond - famous for their seafood dishes.
It's no wonder why the new cafe form utilising the same name is seeing such great success, considering it's only been open for a short time.
The cafe is busy, pretty much from open 'til close. Roast ducks, BBQ pork and soy sauce chicken hang from the front window.
The food is served fast - the staff uphold the reputation of the Pacific name - fast service. The food is of exceptional standard, and frankly, probably the best BBQ pork/roast duck in town - but be careful, you'll be paying for it. Pacific Cafe is a couple of notches more expensive for this type of food than most places you'll find in Chinatown. Is it worthwhile? You'll need to determine that for yourself - however, it is great value for takeaway.
For those who like a relaxed meal, be mindful that the staff are quite conscious of ushering you out of the cafe as quickly as possible to make way for others wanting to come in.
