the cruise has restaurants that are paid forin your ticket and others that you have to pay to eat in.
on the second day of our four day cruise from melb to eden return we found out we had to book the included free restaurants. we were rudely told that they were fully booked out for the rest of the cruise. Not Acceptable. cabin staff however were great. have told them twice and no response.
four of us went. so all four annoyed.

We had our cruise holiday with Pacific Jewel on September 2014.
It was a 9 day cruise, departing from Sydney to New Caledonia. We had visited Noumea, Mare, Isle Of Pines. Those Islands were beautiful. However, one thing we were disappointed about was when we arrived at Noumea, It was Sunday and all the shops were closed. It was better to arrive there on the weekday instead of the weekend.

We loved this luxury style holiday. You can go to eat in a few restaurants for free (some restaurants you need to pay) and watch the show at 7 pm or 9 pm.

My partner and I went on our first cruise ever with P&O.
We went on a starter cruise around Sydney just to see what it was like. We didn't think that we would have so much fun.

Loved our cruise experience on the Pacific Sun. There was a bit of panic right at the start because our luggage was misplaced. I still think it's a bit unsafe that luggage is just left outside your room...thankfully, the level/section's stewart was really nice and our luggage was found before the cruise took off. Excellent service from the same stewart for the rest of the flight.

I liked the activities you could go to -- comedy nights, learn-to-dance sessions. And the food was surprisingly good, too! Could choose between a buffet, or fine dining (tea/scones, for dinner entree/main). All at no additional cost. :) We didn't feel like we had to pay for any of the extras on board (alcohol, ice cream, spa experiences), so it worked out to be fairly cheap, though obviously it's better business for them if we do. XD Room was a good size.

I give it five stars as it was a great cruise with great food and hosting. We did pacific dawn to whitsundays. Sadly due to weather we went to sydney instead but it was awesome and I'm from sydney and had spent days driving to brisbane lmao. Rooms were good with big porthole, the staff were great left them a tip as don't think wages are great and they work 7 days every week for months on end. Cocktails and beers bout 9 bux. Food was awesum! Definately go again!

Approximate cost: $450= 4 nights

I recently did a 2 night cruise on the Pacific Dawn from Brisbane to Sydney for a hen's weekend and had a great time. The ship itself is not the ultimate in luxury but it was clean and comfortable. We had an oceanview cabin which was nice to see the ocean first thing in the morning when you wake up. The restaurants are all actually really good, we had 3 and 4 course lunches and dinners that I would be happy to get in any normal A la carte restaurant. It's fantastic value because the food alone is worth what you pay for the cruise. The cocktails are great and such affordable prices and so many activities to chose from, bingo is a blast. All in all you cant get better value than this for a holiday and it's very hard not to have a good time on one of these cruises.

I cruised on Pacific Sun in 2008 and my whole family cruised the Pacific Dawn in 2012. They aren't the flashiest of cruise ships but certainly unbeatable on price. Shop around though as there is certainly almost always something to be found cheaper from different travel agents. We had an issue with rudeness of our initial restaurant waitress and were subsequently moved when we complained. Our new waiter was amazing, friendly, hilarious and helpful. If you aren't comfortable at your designated table, ask to move. It can really kill the cruise vibe being stuck in an unpleasant environment. Nightly dinners are off a selected menu with breakfast a buffet. There is a pizza restaurant on the sun, an ice creamery and a more refined restaurant upstairs. We were given a meal in the restaurant as a courtesy for our rude waiter that included everything from entre, dessert and wine. There are designated dress up nights. Island party night we purchased grass sarongs from Villa. We took our own outfits for western night. We dressed in cocktail dresses at dinner time. It was an amazing cruise. We will certainly do another.
