i was told over the phone the call out fee was XX and then additional XX per 15 minutes (they didnt even tell me the quoted price was excluding gst. i only found out when i got my invoice).
The technician came out when i was not home but my tradie doing my floor was.. so i knew exactly what time he arrived. I came home shortly after. He finished the job (but spent about 10 minutes of the time on the phone) and left (the whole job took about 45 mins). I was sent a bill for 1.5 hrs. i emailed them to enquire and they argued and said that the technician was on site for the full 1.5 hrs. I said there was no way that is correct as my tradie recorded what time Mott arrived. and i was home when Mott left. Nope. they continued to argue with me.
disappointed with the service from management in dealing with my complaint and their charges are very unfair. I will not use Mott again.

Approximate cost: $203

I was excited about trying this service which had any tradesperson you wanted within the one organization. I thought there would be some security and quality assurance, being a big organization. Then I was wary when they said they won't come out to do a quote, they will just come and do the work, and charge for the time they are here, and materials used. They said others who gave quotes factored the cost of the quote into the price, and it was cheaper to go with the Mott Group and just pay for the work done. I wasn't sure, but thought I'd give them a go, as I wanted the job done soon. I had a carpenter come out to replace some of the wooden frame around a window that was cracking. The wood was replaced, and the carpenter painted over the wood he used. Within about 8 weeks, the exact same problem occurred with the new wood. Mott group apparently guarantees it's work, so I got the guy to come out again. He said, well, you didn't want it to cost too much, so I did such and such, what you actually need is a heap more work done and it's going to cost hundreds of dollars extra. At this point my chin hit the floor. Somehow it was my fault that it wasn't fixed properly??? If the work was never going to fix the problem, how come this is the only option I was given when the guy came out in the first place? I would have to be stupid to give these guys who showed me they can't do a job properly, hundreds of dollars more to do it again.
