I would really like to write that i loved everything about this experience but i waited in line for 30 - 40 minutes and the service when i got to the counter was very poor. No smile, please or thankyou, and for that kind of money i would be expecting great service.
Once i got the hot chocolate drink after waiting another 30 minutes, it was to DIE for !! Overall i would go back because it was good chocolate but wouldn't be looking forward to the wait.
They also didn't have takeaway cups.

Approximate cost: $15-20

Dissapointing! I was excited to try Max Brenner for the first time after passing and always seeing a line up! But after visiting I think the line up at Bulimba is more due to lack of staff? One person serving and one barrista for dozens of customers. I waited ages to order, then for my drink and dessert to arrive.
I tried the chocolate brownie sundae expecting hot brownies topped with ice cream but the brownies were as cold as the icecream they were served with. I also ordered an italian hot chocolate which tasted sour and I didnt drink it (I also didnt take it back because I couldnt be bothered waiting 20mins for a refund or replacement). Back to Freestyle Tout for coffee and dessert for me!

Approximate cost: $20

My daughter took me here for the first time last week. I loved it!! Killed every chocolate craving i had! We shared the fondue for two and had so much left over we took it home for my husband. I actually got a sugar high! Would love to go there every week, but it is on the expensive side, so its more for a treat or special occasion.

Approximate cost: $20

I have always loved Max Brenner, the lick pot is all you need for that sugar hit! Though i was with a friend here and she crunched on a fly that was in her chocolate. We informed them and the handled the situation quite well (understading that flys have their own mind and can go where they please!). If i were to go back i would choose to go to Max Brenner on Oxford st rather than the one at Southbank as lining up to order can take up to 45 mins!

The staff definitely have some teething problems- it's pretty slow and they seem desperate to take your table number away. I had to retrieve mine 3 times on one occasion because they kept taking it. Having said that, the staff are very friendly and the food is amazing so you can definitely let the little things slide. It's a bit pricey to go there regularly but is great for a treat! Just have some patience :)

Approximate cost: $12 to $15

Awesome, I was in chocolate heaven. They have only been own just over a week but they are already running smoothly. Service was great and the line wasn't as long as that at Southbank and the food came quite quickly. I had a chocolate lick an lots of extras-icecream, strawberries and banana-the kids loved it too!
