Good location, decent hospital with nice staff. Wait can be very long, however as they work on a triage system thats understandable. Overall otherwise happy.

Can't thank the wonderful team at Mater enough for their treatment of me. All staff right from the specialist urologist all the way through to catering, cleaning and admin staff were happy, helpful, friendly and highly skilled.

Can't say anything more positive about these guys. I recently had my daughter in the kids ED and we had her seen by a doctor within the hour. followed by a prompt ultrasound and seen again by the doctor. There was hardly any waiting around. The staff are great

I have had cause to be here a few times, both for myself and for my daughter. The level of care is excellent. The nursing staff are amazing!

ED waiting room is clean, and if anything happens to change that, their domestic staff are onto it quickly.

Like every hospital in QLD it is understaffed, but they work so hard to make it work.

When my daughter was born she had very bad jaundice so we were admitted through emergency to the children's ward so she could have light therapy. She was two days old and I was a breastfeeding mother. While waiting at emergency at night for three hours a doctor to admit us, there was no water and no food available nearby. It was late so I couldn't go out to get anything. There was also no area where I could feed - as a new mother I was not competent or confident feeding in public. We stayed in the children's ward for two nights. I can't fault the care they gave my baby, but really, I was feeding her every two hours. I was not offered food or drink, and I was told I had to look after that myself - fine, but there is only Subway or the Coffee Club nearby and they are not open all the time. The hospital wasn't paying for her food, the least they could do was feed me so that I could feed her! After moving from the mother's hospital, this was a huge shock. I have since found out I should have been offered meals, but there was some bureaucracy involved apparently. The end result is that she was healed, but it wasn't the nicest experience. Hopefully it's not something I'll need to go through again though.

the first time i visited this place i had a pain in my groin and within an hour of going to emergency i was addmitted to a ward for surgury on a hernia that had strangulated , then in may i was admitted for a stomach pains and once again admitted for tests and then referals to other doctors they would not let me go home until they found out what was wrong with me , great staff great doctor and great care for patients keep up the great work , the menu was reasonable as well and the prices for tv exceptional as well as the t.v. being a smart t,v

My son had occular cellulitis at the age of 15 months. The staff in the emergency department of the children's section were very calming for us and incredibly nice in such a stressful time. My son had to have a drip inserted and was obviously upset but having such wonderful staff there helped to make us calm which helped my son and he was as good as could be expected for a toddler who doesn't understand what is happening. The waiting times weren't too bad either and the waiting room had toys for him to play with so he was quite happy during the waiting time. If we ever have any issues in the future that require a hospital trip for my son we will go there.

My son was in the ICU at the mater childrens hospital and the nurses and docs in there where fantastic. It was when we where moved to the childrens ward that the care was a little less impressive. Nurses where very loud, late at night considering it was a childrens ward. When we had to be moved back to the logan hospital ( as my sons condition was less intense and the logan hospital was closer), because he was still on oxygen he had to have a nurse escort. While we where waiting for the ambulance to come take us, i heard the nurse complain that she had to do the escort as her shift was ending soon. It made me feel like we where inconveincing her and i was really disappointed that her paitent care level was so shitty.

It was interesting to read your perspective on Mater Children's Hospital. All of my experiences with the Mater have been exceptionally good, particularly the 5 days my then 9 year old son spent there. I couldn't recommend the Mater more highly.
