Hargrave Road in West End has a collection of restaurants that many people don't even know about. One of my favourites is the Makanan Indonesian restaurants.

This restaurants does authentic Indonesian Food. It is right there in the name. Makanan means food, so basically the name of the restaurant is in Indonesian Food.

The food is authentic and if you are not familiar with Indonesian food you can order a combination meal for one (Chicken, rice, vegetables etc).

They also have a list of Indonesian words or phrases on the wall and some nights they have a singer there as well.

Worth a try, especially if you need your gado gado fix.

I love this place. Serves traditional Indonesian that tastes amazing. Last time we went we went with a group of 8 of us. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everyone found something that they ate and enjoyed. Was such a good night with such a good atmosphere.

An authentic Indonesian restauarant owned and operated by Indonesians. Great entrees - try the batagor. I love their fried noodles - mie goreng and the authentic Indonesian drinks hit the spot. Some nights they have live entertainment whicj is very Indonesian - an acquired taste.
