Luna Park was a disappointment to my 5 & 6 years old. After purchasing season tickets , we eagerly visited . To put it lightly, the park is mismanaged! Only two outdoor rides were open to the “Green” height passes! I asked to speak to management. Management , was a young polite trainee who had to keep going to her manager every time I asked a question.
She apologized, but said they had a “Staff Shortage” today! What? After spending quite a bit of money , the grandkids couldn’t ride all the rides! When we first entered to get wristbands, why didn’t they tell us then? If we had been informed, we wouldn’t have waisted our time!! MISMANAGED!!
It was close to 40 degrees that day, and didn’t find a lot of shade to wait while the grand kids went on the two rides that were open for their age group. MISMANAGED!

Regarding the indoor, slides.. not particularly safe.. I couldn’t stay close to the children because the “viewing area” had a wood rail that was exactly the height of my eyesight, I would have had to bend down or have a step stool to see them! Really?
At that point, we left disappointed .
Luna Park has a lot of potential! I’ve been to many large & small parks throughout the world that are managed well. Sydney should not settle for this mediocre managed tourist & local attraction!
I wouldn’t have minded paying the price they ask if we had had a good time… just sad. I wish I could have written a positive review and will definitely try it again when management decides to take a look at the way things could be better & put some effort in making it a more positive experience.
I hope this helps , I’d sure hate to see it go under!

Often the nostalgic memory of childhood is often better than the reality.

Here at Luna Park, it feels like some of the rides haven't been updated or changed since my youth 30 odd years ago. Entry to do nothing is free

Currently June 2017 prices are $52 for an adult all day. And $22 for a little kid unlimited rides all day. I feel my 4 year old boy can get full value out of the $22 but since I am the only parent with him, not really worth it for me. Irrespective of that, the Wild Mouse (roller coaster) was being fixed and it would be a stretch one way or the other to say an adult could truly get $55 worth of 'fun' on the rides.

We had a few goes on side show alley and won some tiny fluffy dice (only $15) but that should be expected to be honest. Food was the normal astronomical price for burgers, fries and soft drinks. Actually makes the movies seem cheap.

I don't want to hate on Luna Park, 'cos at the end of the day it is a fun place to go. Maybe if they lower their price to $40 I think people would come more often. But at $52 plus all the other crap it's a bit too much.

Friday day-afternoon was dead if you like the ghost town feel. You still have to wait to go on the rides as there is only one attendant for the entire kids section, so that sucked.

Worth a visit, but expect to spend some serious cash - especially with young kids.

Approximate cost: $52

Luna Park made a significant change to allow Season Pass holders to go straight to the rides rather than use their pass to get a wrist band, this seems like a great step.

Unfortunately, though, it feels like the processes are still cumbersome, where they could move customers into a "bull pen" before the ride ends facilitating fast entry, they wait until the ride is over and all customers have departed, which extends queues significantly.

I wonder how differently things would work if you paid for each ride? No doubt throughput would be more of a focus.

Staff are always good I've found.

Approximate cost: $50

had a great time and a great venue. remembering back to when I was a kid, especially on the slides in coney island!!

a family friendly place that is not too expensive and better value than anything on the gold coast!

Luna Park is located in Milson Point. It's changed alot since I was in High School. Entry is free to get inside but you do need to pay to get on rides and attractions once inside. An annual rides pass will set you back $99 ( valid for a year - well worth it if you come regularly or you can purchase an unlimited rides pass (depending on if it's peak or off peak times) from $19.95 to $44.95 but we have found that purchasing tickets online was cheaper.

The kids enjoyed the carousel, dodgem cars, the clown booth, ring toss but queue times are long at some rides.

It does make for a fun but pricey day.

Approximate cost: $99 +

Fun place to visit when you need a mini Easter show fix. Great rides and prize winning booths. It quite often has concerts for musical acts. Conveniently close (eg 5 mins walk) to Milsons point train station

Luna park is not what it used to be. The rides are few and far between and the waits are sometimes an hour long wait for a 3 minute ride. We recently took our 5 year old son and the only thing he wanted to go on was the merry go round and it was closed for renovations. There aren't many rides appropriate for his age. Plenty for the really little kids and for those over 10+ but nothing in between. We ended up spending about $200+ for our son to go on 5 or so rides and my son was devastated that he wasn't able to go on the merry go round. The carnival games offer really cheap, nasty poor quality " prizes" which is a rip off considering how much a day here can cost a family. We left feeling really disappointed and let down. I would NOT recommend Luna Park to my family or friends.

Approximate cost: $100+
