DO NOT VISIT THIS STORE. I have asked them for a specific repair of a backpack, and the result I got was a different thing. They have refused to do a refund, and the customer service was terrible. DO NOT visit here. Go to another store. I will NEVER go to this store ever again.

I had a backpack with an almost broken zipper. The zipper was double-sided, and I was trying to fix it. I, therefore, got a new zipper to replace with from Spotlight and went to LookSmart. I didn't know anything about sewing or crafting, so I was showing how the zipper works to the spotlight staff to get the closest zipper they could offer me there, but apparently, the spotlight staff gave me the wrong one. This was how it all started.

Before visiting LookSmart, I have visited "Alter It" in the same shopping mole and called some other alteration stores in Clayton. That's how much I was super careful with fixing my backpack because the bag had a lot of memory in it. However, all the stores told me that fixing the backpack with a double-sided zipper is a bit tricky. Looksmart was the last place I visited, and the store was the only one that said yes.

When I went to the store, I have asked the staff what I wanted to have REALLY specifically, showing how the original bag and zipper works SO MANY TIMES, just because I wanted to make sure with everything. I was literally showing how the original double-sided zipper works, saying like "so I want to have this 2 side opening thing(effect) with this new zipper I got from Spotlight for this backpack. This is how the bag now opens from both left and right, and I want to keep this opening style. Could you do that?". They said yes by having a look at the bag, the zipper and everything.

However, when I revisited the store on 25.02.2021 to get my bag back, the zipper was single-sided. The bag only opened from the right side and not from the left side. I was so shocked and told them, "I told you so many times that I wanted to have a double-sided zipper by showing how the bag worked!" and then the staff told me ", That's the zipper you had. We just put it on your bag because you told me to replace it.". Im not saying that she was wrong with her point, but I just wanted to know why she didn't tell me anything when I was showing the double side opening zipper and the backpack in the first place. If she knew that the zipper was not gonna make the bag double side opening bag, she could have told me that before getting the money. As I was super careful with fixing my backpack, I clearly remember showing her all the details of the bag and zipper when I first visited her to ask for the repair. She said yes by having a look at how the bag and zipper worked, and that's the reason why I paid the money.

If the staff had told me like "Oh Im sorry, I didn't realize the zipper was the wrong one when you first visited here", then I could have been like ", Nah it's fine..I got this zipper, and maybe my explanation to you wasn't clear enough..". Although what made me furious was their attitude. They kept on saying like "but the zipper is the wrong one. You didn't show how the bag worked", even though I have shown them SO MANY TIMES how the bag worked cuz I was so terribly cautious with the backpack repair. Their attitude was so aggressive, and they did not admit their overlook. The staff was literally laughing at me when I was explaining how important the bag was for me and how they could have told me that the zipper wasn't the right one for my backpack in the first place if they knew it.
They told me so many times, like, "The zipper is clearly not for two side opening bag!" but im like…If you knew the zipper CLEARLY wasn't the right one for my bag, why didn't you tell me that in the first place!!!!! I wasn't even asking for a refund or anything initially because I admitted the mistake on my side. Still, I just wanted them to understand that they could have avoided this chaos just by letting me know that the zipper was the wrong one before working on my backpack if they CLEARLY knew that the zipper wasn't the right one for the bag. But, instead, they did not admit their mistake, they didn't accept the refund when I got upset by their attitude, and they told me that they had done nothing wrong. I just couldn't believe their attitude, and I was so disappointed by them. I regret asking them for the repair so badly, and I will never visit that place. The most terrible experience I have ever had with any store. Poor customer service.

My partner purchased trousers that needed altering and I usually do this for him but he was in a hurry so decided to use Looksmart alterations. They insisted he try the pants on again before they would do any alterations to ensure they did it correctly. It was done in the time frame he was given and did a good job. I really don't know what other services charge but I felt they charged a reasonable amount.
